摘要： The method and apparatus of the present invention may be utilized to support a selected mounting point on a circuit board during the mounting an electronic component. An integrated circuit device is selected and positioned adjacent a first side of a circuit board at a desired mounting point utilizing a robotic manipulator and a placement head. A support fixture is then urged into temporary contact with a second side of the circuit board utilizing a flexible mounting system such that minor variations or misalignments between the plane of the support fixture, the circuit board and the placement head are eliminated. In one embodiment of the present invention a flexible fluid filled bag is utilized in conjunction with the support fixture so that the presence of components on the second side of the circuit board may be accommodated while supporting the circuit board during component mounting. Finally, the requirement for providing a robotic manipulator and placement head capable of generating the substantial downward forces necesary to create a bond between a circuit board and an electronic component is eliminated by positioning the placement head and heated bonding tool proximate to the conductive leads of an electronic component and then forcefully urging the support fixture upward toward the heated bonding tool while maintaining the heated bonding tool in a fixed position.

摘要： A tracheostomy tube assembly has a tube the forward end of which is located within the trachea and supports an inflatable sealing cuff. The rear end of the assembly supports a soft, semi-flexible flange having slots which receive a tape by which the assembly is secured about the patient's neck. The assembly also carries a second inflatable plastics cuff mounted on the flange, which encircles the tube and has a raised portion on opposite sides of the tube. The volume of the second cuff, when inflated, is sufficient to accommodate the space between the flange and the neck without elastic deformation of the cuff.

摘要： A method is described for producing a pneumococcal capsular polysaccharide protein conjugate in which one or more activated pneumococcal polysaccharides of particular pneumococcal serotypes and carrier protein are separately lyophilized in the form of lyospheres of carrier protein and lyospheres of the one or more polysaccharides. A predetermined amount of carrier protein lyospheres and activated polysaccharide lyospheres are mixed together and the mixture reconstituted in an organic solvent to produce polysaccharide carrier protein conjugates. A plurality of conjugates, each comprising polysaccharides of a particular serotype, may be used to produce multivalent pneumococcal immunogenic compositions having a combination of conjugates for use in vaccines.

Directional indicators on the visualized tissue as well as the imaging systems may be utilized while other variations may utilize image rotation or manipulation of visualized tissue regions to facilitate catheter control. Moreover, visualized tissue regions may be combined with imaged tissue regions as well as navigational information to further facilitate tissue treatments.

摘要： A method and apparatus for preventing twisting of at least one purlin. A roof construction has purlins extending between support beams to provide extra stability for the roof. To prevent purlins from twisting, a torsional brace is provided. A beam of the torsional brace extends between two of the purlins. A static clip is connected to a purlin, and a pin is used to secure one end of the beam to the clip. The other end of the beam can be similarly clipped to another purlin, or alternatively, the other beam can be bolted to the purlin.

摘要： This invention discloses a modular system having a base module, a mid-section control module, and a display module for preparing and administering a gas-enriched bodily fluid. An apparatus adapted for connecting with a gas tank is included in the system for gas tank hook-up. Gas-enrichment is achieved by a gas-enriching device which can be in the form of a disposable cartridge. During operation, the gas-enrichment device is placed in an enclosure within the control module. An electronic controller manages the various aspects of the system such as the production of gas-enriched fluid, flow rates, bubble detection, and automatic operation and shut down. The system has a power supply for providing electrical power to the system, and a switching mechanism coupled to the power supply and gas tank for synchronized switching of the power supply and the gas tank between an ON state and an OFF state.

摘要： Co-extrusion apparatus for manufacturing a laminated plastic film or sheet comprises a plug-type layer sequencer including a plurality of channels for conducting a plurality of polymer flows; a transitional aspect ratio block for inducing the plurality of polymer flows to converge; and a flow velocity profiler cartridge for combining the plurality of polymer flows to form the film. In accordance with one embodiment, the layer sequencer includes a tapered selector pin which minimizes mechanical damage when the selector pin is removed. In accordance with another embodiment, the flow velocity profiler cartridge includes inserts fitting within cavities for controlling the polymer flows which form the layers of the film or sheet manufactured by the apparatus. At least one such insert defines lanes within an associated cavity so as to promote the formation of lanes of differing polymer composition within at least one layer of the laminated sheet or film.
