Abstract:
Described are shape-memory polymers that have a composite prepolymer crosslinked with a stoichiometric amount of a multifunctional crosslinker, the composite prepolymer having a branched or telechelic prepolymer having a low polydispersity reacted with a non-crystalline chain extender. Also described are methods of making shape-memory polymers by reacting a branched or telechelic prepolymer having a low polydispersity with a non-crystalline chain extender to form a composite prepolymer, and crosslinking a stoichiometric amount of a multifunctional crosslinker with the composite prepolymer, thereby forming the shape-memory polymer.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods of treating a subject with cancer are described. The methods include administering to the subject a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound with the dual characteristics or restoring function of the c-Cbl ubiquitin ligase in cancer cells and in also worsening sublethal lysosomal dysfunction, preferably in combination with an agent capable of making cancer cells more oxidized. The pharmaceutical composition can be administered with an additional therapeutic agent or agents such as an agent that represents an accepted standard of care for the treatment of a particular type being treated. The methods can be used for treating a wide variety of different kinds of cancers, such as brain tumors, breast cancers, melanomas, breast cancers and lymphomas. The compositions and methods have the characteristics of enabling simultaneous regulation of multiple proteins known to be critical in cancer cell function, of targeting cancer stem cells and of enhancing sensitivity of cancer cells to the effects of tamoxifen and other anticancer agents.
Abstract:
Provided are compounds having an inhibitory effect on Mixed Lineage Kinases. The compounds include substituted pyrrolo[2,3-b]pyridines having Formula IX Also provided are pharmaceutical compositions, methods of preparing the compounds, synthetic intermediates, and methods of using the compounds, independently or in combination with other therapeutic agents, for treating diseases and conditions which are affected by Mixed Lineage Kinase inhibition. Also provided are methods of treatment neuropsychiatric disorders which comprise the inhibition of Mixed Lineage Kinases.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods of using reaction injection molding to mold stimuli-responsive thermosets such as urethane linked poly(caprolactone) networks from polyols and polyisocyanates, as well as polymers prepared by such methods.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides compounds that are inhibitors of interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinases 1 and 4 (IRAK1 and IRAK4) and their use in the treatment of medical disorders such as autoimmune disorders, cancer, and pain disorders.
Abstract:
A method, system and devices to selectively control modal vibrations in an elastic panel with a number of force actuators distributed throughout the surface of the elastic panel to excite/depress the response of one or more vibrational resonant modes included in a prescribed subset. The force actuators are disposed such that prescribed modal excitation/depression may be realized when the actuators are driven by a common source signal.

Disclosed are methods of using reaction injection molding to mold stimuli-responsive thermosets such as urethane linked poly(caprolactone) networks from polyols and polyisocyanates, as well as polymers prepared by such methods.
Abstract:
Provided herein are compositions and methods for detecting and/or diagnosing a Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) infection in a subject. It is a surprising finding of the present invention that an S. aureus infection may be detected by using one or more antigens selected from the group consisting of an IsdA antigen, IsdB antigen, CHIPS antigen, and a SCIN antigen. In some embodiments, these S. aureus antigens are used to detect antibodies secreted by the plasmablasts from the subject.

Abstract:
Compositions and methods for separating double-stranded nucleic acids out of a mixture comprising single-stranded nucleic acids and/or dNTPs and/or enzymes. The method uses spatially inhomogeneously functionalized nanoporous materials. For example, the compositions and methods of the present invention can be used to purify DNA amplification reaction products.
