Abstract: A method of providing a medical image of a ROI of a patient, the method comprising: acquiring a first medical image of a region of interest (ROI) of a patient, the medical image characterized hy a first signal to noise ratio (SNR); determining for a given pixel in the first image a plurality of different first image patches in the first image, each having a pixel that is coincident with the given pixel; determining for each first image patch a similar second image patch having a second SNR greater than the first SNR; determining an enhanced pixel value for the given pixel having an enhanced SNR greater than the first SNR responsive to pixel values of pixels in the determined second image patches; and using the determined pixel value to generate a second medical image of the ROI having an enhanced SNR greater than the first SNR.

Abstract: Apparatus for analyzing brain MRI, is disclosed. The apparatus comprises an input for receiving a first and a second MRI scans at the beginning and end of a predetermined time interval post contrast administration; a subtraction map former for forming a subtraction map from said first and said second MRI scans by analyzing said scans to distinguish between two primary populations, a slow population, in which contrast clearance from the tissue is slower than contrast accumulation, and a fast population in which clearance is faster than accumulation; and an output to provide an indication of distribution of said two primary populations, wherein said predetermined time period is at least twenty minutes.

Abstract: Provided are methods and kits for classifying a subject as being more likely to have benign multiple sclerosis (BMS) or as being more likely to have typical relapsing remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Classification of multiple sclerosis disease course is performed by comparing a level of expression of at least one gene involved in the RNA polymerase I pathway in a cell of the subject to a reference expression data of said at least one gene obtained from a cell of at least one subject pre-diagnosed as having BMS and/or from a cell of at least one subject pre-diagnosed as having typical RRMS, thereby classifying the subject as being more likely to have BMS or as being more likely to have typical RRMS. Also provided are methods of diagnosing and treating multiple sclerosis and methods of monitoring treatment efficiency.
