Abstract: Computer systems and methods are described for operating a network data and analytics function (NWDAF) in a cellular core network. The NWDAF receives user equipment (UE) mobility information from a first network function of the cellular network system and receives edge application server (EAS) information from a second network function of the cellular network system. The NWDAF derives data analytics based at least in part on the UE mobility information and the edge application server information. The NWDAF receives a request for the data analytics from a third network function in the cellular network system, and provides the data analytics to the third network function.

Abstract: Apparatus and methods to support parallel access to services of multiple subscriber identity modules (SIMs) and/or electronic SIMs (eSIMs) by a wireless device are disclosed. The wireless device is a single-radio wireless device that includes wireless circuitry that supports an active voice or video connection via a single radio access network of a cellular wireless network at a time. To send or receive data for a second SIM/eSIM, when an active voice or video connection for a first SIM/eSIM uses the wireless circuitry, the single-radio wireless device can i) establish parallel, linked protocol data unit (PDU) sessions for different SIMs, ii) multiplex traffic for different SIMs over a common radio connection with SIM information embedded in protocol headers for routing by network equipment, and/or iii) use an additional dedicated bearer using a first, active SIM for each data network name (DNN) over which to route for a second, suspended SIM.

A base station may map logical cell identifiers, corresponding to satellites, to physical cell identifiers, corresponding to physical or geographic cells. Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a user equipment device (UE) to perform methods for enhancement of multi-SIM devices, such as UE 106. A network may increase paging retries for known MU-SIM devices, e.g., based on an indication of capabilities from a MU-SIM device. The indication may be via a NAS registration request, an RRC capability procedure, and/or an RRC UE assistance procedure. Additionally, a network may include an indication of a paging priority to the UE. The UE may then determine a response to the page based, at least in part, on the indicated priority. Further, the UE may indicate a tune-away to the network. The indication of the tune-away may include a cause and/or duration for the tune-away and may be provided at an RRC level or a network access stratum (NAS) level.

Abstract: A cellular network includes a first network component configured to i) identify a first session between a first data network and a user equipment (UE), wherein the first session corresponds to a first session management function (SMF), ii) receive data network access information (DNAI) from a network function, the DNAI corresponding to a second data network and iii) select a second SMF that is to be utilized for a second session between the second data network and the UE. The cellular network also includes a second network component configured to i) store a mapping between the DNAI and the second SMF and ii) transmit an indication of the second SMF to the first network component, wherein the first network component selects the second SMF based on the indication.

Abstract: Manners of controlling a data rate for a user equipment (UE) on a per slice basis by either a core network or a radio access network (RAN). In one exemplary manner, a request is received to establish a new Protocol Data Unit (PDU) session for a network slice for a user equipment (UE), a maximum session throughput value is received for the new PDU session, the maximum session throughput value for the new PDU session is added to an accumulated maximum session throughput value to determine an updated accumulated maximum session throughput value, the updated accumulated maximum session throughput value is compared to a maximum slice throughput value and, when the updated accumulated maximum session throughput value exceeds the maximum slice throughput value, an action is performed related to the new PDU session.

The capacity information may relate to the capacity of the network slice with respect to the number of wireless devices registered for the network slice, or to the capacity of the network slice with respect to the number of packet sessions established with the network slice, or both, among various possibilities.
