Abstract: A system for treating tissue includes a first anchoring device including a first anchoring element at a distal end thereof for anchoring the first anchoring device in a first target portion of tissue extending about a periphery of a tissue defect to be treated and a first suture receiving feature at a proximal end thereof. The system also includes a second anchoring device including a second anchoring element at a distal end thereof for anchoring the second anchoring device in a second target portion of tissue about the periphery of the tissue defect and a second suture receiving feature at a proximal end thereof. Furthermore, the system includes a suture configured to be passed through the first and second suture receiving features such that a tension applied to the suture draws the first and second anchoring devices toward one another to close the tissue defect.

Abstract: A device for treating a tissue opening includes a proximal portion including an elongated flexible member, a capsule releasably coupled to a distal end of the flexible member and including a lumen extending therethrough and a clip including a pair of arms movably housed within the capsule. A suture extending along a first one of the pair of arms and including a loop at a distal end thereof extending across an opening extending through the first one of the pair of arms. A suture grabbing element extending laterally from a second one of the pair of arms and including a hook so that, when the pair of arms are moved toward a closed configuration, the hook extends through the opening to grab the loop and draw the distal end of the suture from the first one of the pair of arms toward the second one of the pair of arms.

Abstract: According to one aspect, a medical system may include an instrument including an end effector for acting as a monopolar electrode. The end effector may be configured to be positioned in a body of a subject and emit radiofrequency energy towards a target area in the body. The medical system may further include a return electrode. The return electrode may be deliverable within the body proximate the target area and separately from the instrument and the monopolar electrode. Abstract: A device for treating a tissue includes a capsule extending longitudinally from a proximal end to a distal end and including a channel extending therethrough, the capsule releasably coupled to a proximal portion of the device and clip arms, proximal ends of which are slidably received within the channel of the capsule so that the clip arms are movable between an open configuration, and a closed configuration. A core member is coupled to the clip alms, the core member including a proximal portion and a distal portion releasably connected to one another so that, when the core member is subjected to a predetermined load, the proximal and distal portions are separated from one another. An electrically conductive control member is connected to the core member, a proximal end of the connected member connected to a power source for delivering an electrical current to the clip arms.

An example medical device may include a medical device for delivery of a surgical closure member. The medical device includes an elongate tubular member having a proximal end, a distal end and a lumen extending therein. The elongate tubular member is adapted to be delivered through the working channel of an endoscope and the lumen is adapted to receive a surgical closure member. The medical device also includes a tissue support extending from the distal end of the elongate tubular member. The tissue support includes a support surface and the support surface is adapted to support tissue as a surgical closure member engages the tissue thereon.
