Abstract:
Circuitry to remove switches from signal paths in integrated circuit programmable gain attenuators. Programmable gain attenuators and programmable gain amplifiers commonly switch between signal levels using semi-conductor switches. Such switches may introduce non-linearities in the signal. By isolating the switches from the signal path linearity of the PGA can be improved.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for directing and accelerating the growth of neuronal axon or neurite. The invention accelerates the growth speed of axon of nerve cells by using a substrate configured with a discontinuous micropattern of neuronal path-finding molecules or material thereon. The invention can reduce the connection or regeneration time of neural network. The present invention also discloses a micro-contact printing method for producing the device.
Abstract:
A low noise charge pump for use in a PLL-based frequency synthesizer. The charge pump includes a timing controller and a plurality of charge-pump circuits. The timing controller receives a reference signal to generate a plurality of enable signals having non-overlapping phases, where the frequency of each enable, signal is equal to that of the reference signal divided by the number of the enable signals. The charge-pump circuits are coupled in parallel and operate in a time-interleaved manner according to the enable signals. In response to a first and second control signal, the charge-pump circuits are able to generate respective output currents which are multiplexed together to form a charge-pump current.

Abstract:
An olefin polymerization process comprises gas-phase polymerization of at least one olefin monomer in a reactor using a Ziegler-Natta or metallocene catalyst system in the presence of at least one suitable radical-generating compound in an amount sufficient for polymer modification and subsequent stabilization of such compound and generated radicals before post-reactor heat processing.
Abstract:
Binary indications are converted to an analog representation with significant reduction in ringing at the transitions between successive binary indications and in the period during each binary indication. The binary indications are disposed in a row-and-column matrix to provide a thermometer code. Each stage of the converter includes a decoder and latch arranged so the decoder inputs settle before the latch is set by the clock pulses. The stages are implemented in complementary CMOS. Complementary transistors are biased so one transistor of the pair is driven to the rail while the other transistor of the pair floats. A dummy CMOS transistor is used to balance the number of transistors in the decoder paths.
Abstract:
A gas mixing apparatus including a chamber, a filter, a gas transmitting unit and a porous layer is provided. The chamber includes a gas inlet and a gas outlet. The filter, which has at least one opening, is disposed at the gas outlet of the chamber. An environmental gas outside the chamber is filtered and becomes a clean gas after flowing through the filter into the chamber. The gas transmitting unit is connected to the opening of the filter to transmit a gas to be mixed into the chamber through the opening. The porous layer is disposed at the gas outlet. The gas to be mixed is mixed with the clean gas and leaves the chamber through the porous layer.
Abstract:
A double-layer liquid crystal lens comprises a first transparent substrate, a second transparent substrate, a third transparent substrate, a first liquid crystal layer interposed between the first and the second transparent substrates, and a second liquid crystal layer interposed between the second and the third transparent substrates. The upper side of the first transparent substrate is provided with a transparent ITO electrode and an alignment film disposed on the transparent electrode. Each of the upper and the lower sides of the second transparent substrate is provided with a alignment film. The upper side of the third transparent substrate is provided with an apertured electrode while the lower side thereof is provided with an alignment film. The first and the third transparent substrates are made of glass while the second transparent substrate is made of plastic material. The total thickness of the double-layer liquid crystal lens is further reduced by forming the second transparent substrate with a thinner plastic transparent substrate.
Abstract:
A composition of an anti-glare coating has a resin, multiple particles and a dispersant. The resin is selected from the group consisting of thermosetting resin and light-curing resin. The particles have a dimension that is from about 30 nanometers (nm) to about 10 micrometers (μm). Because the dispersant stabilizes and keeps a separation distance between each two particles, the particles cannot aggregate in or precipitate out of the anti-glare coating. Thus, the anti-glare coating can be coated easily on the substrate and a surface of the anti-glare film is uniform to provide an improved anti-glare effect. Moreover, the dispersant allows adjustment of haze, gloss and distinctness of image of a substrate coated with the anti-glare coating.
