    Abstract: In an onboard charging apparatus, a plurality of main electric-power storage apparatuses are connected in series to one another. A main electric-power storage apparatus on a lowest potential side of the main electric-power storage apparatuses is a lowest potential electric-power storage apparatus. The lowest potential electric-power storage apparatus has a nominal voltage that is set to 12 V, and supplies electric power to an electrical component mounted to a vehicle. In the onboard charging apparatus, a connecting unit selectively connects, by switching control, the output terminal and any of high potential side terminals of the main electric-power storage apparatuses. A switching control unit controls switching of the connecting unit to switch the high potential side terminal selected as a connection destination of the output terminal among the high potential side terminals of the main electric-power storage apparatuses, based on an output voltage of the output terminal.

    Abstract: In a rotor for a rotary electric machine, a claw pole assembly includes first claw poles and second claw poles. An annular cover member covers the outer circumferential surfaces of the first and second claw poles. The pole cover segments and the inter-pole cover segments are alternately arranged in the circumferential direction of the rotor. Each of the pole cover segments has a circular-arc shape around a first center, and each of the inter-pole cover segments has a circular-arc shape around a second center different from the first center. The first circumferential width of each pole cover segment and the second circumferential width of a corresponding one of the inter-pole segment adjacent to the pole cover segment have a predetermined ratio. The predetermined ratio varies in an axial direction of the rotor.

    Abstract: A rotor core has a regular decagon base portion in its cross section relative to a shaft center and ten convex portions each of which is located between each angle of the regular decagon base portion. Each convex portion has a first convex curve having a single curvature radius. Each permanent magnet is a curved plate and has a concave curve and a second convex curve. Each permanent magnet is provided so that the concave curve adheres on the first convex curve. When each permanent magnet moves in circumferential direction relative to the rotor core, the concave curve slides on the first convex curve of the rotor core. A position of the smallest gap clearance between the second convex curve and the stator does not change. A magnetic-flux-strength maximum position is not changed easily.

    Abstract: A stator for a rotational electrical machine includes a cylindrical stator core and a stator winding.     Abstract: A rotating electric machine has a semiconductor magnetic sensor and a cylindrical housing with a cylinder part, which is made of a soft magnetic material, positioned closer to the semiconductor magnetic sensor relative to a back yoke of a stator core. The semiconductor magnetic sensor is positioned away from the cylindrical housing so that a shortest distance between a center of the semiconductor magnetic sensor and the cylindrical housing is equal to or greater than 50 times of a sum of a first space distance and a second space distance. With such an arrangement, a leak magnetic field generated by magnetic poles that leaks in an axial direction is prevented from disturbing the semiconductor magnetic sensor. Thus, a rotation position detection accuracy of the semiconductor magnetic sensor is improved.
