摘要:
A combined fluid injection and inflation system is disclosed and includes a fluid delivery system including at least one pressurizing device, a fluid path, and a control unit. The fluid path is adapted to connect the pressurizing device to a patient via a catheter including a balloon and inserted in the patient. The control unit is operable to control the fluid delivery system. In operation, the control unit selectively actuates the fluid delivery system to operate in a fluid injection mode or in a balloon inflation mode. In the fluid injection mode the pressurizing device delivers fluid to the fluid path for a fluid injection procedure. In the balloon inflation mode, the pressurizing device delivers fluid to the fluid path for inflating the balloon associated with the catheter. An operator control may be connected to the control unit for controlling the fluid delivery system and may be a handheld device.

An integrated radiopharmaceutical patient treatment system is disclosed including a patient support platform with an associated patient stimulus apparatus, an imager proximate the patient support platform, a radiopharmaceutical fluid delivery system for infusing a radiopharmaceutical fluid into a patient, a patient monitor to be associated with a patient, and an integrated system controller operably associated with the patient stimulus apparatus, imager, radiopharmaceutical fluid delivery system, and patient monitor to control and coordinate their operations. Within the patient treatment system the radiopharmaceutical fluid delivery system may be included comprising a radionuclide supply module, a radiopharmaceutical processing module, a quality control module, a patient injection module, and a controller. A hazardous fluid handling system including a docking station and a hazardous fluid transport device adapted to detachably dock with the docking station is further disclosed.

A method and device for the simultaneous or sequential introduction of multiple fluids into the bloodstream including a multiple lumen catheter with corresponding multiple hole sets. By introducing a second fluid such as saline, the concentration and bolus of a first fluid, such as a contrast agent, can be controlled and optimized.

A syringe system (20) includes an elongated shell (30), a pressure member (80) slidable disposed within the elongated shell (30), and a collapsible cartridge (100). The Collapsible cartridge (100) is inserted within the elongated shell (30), and collapses as the pressure member (30) is advanced within the elongated body (30) to pressurize fluid within the collapsible cartridge (100). The collapsible cartridge (100) preferably further includes a passage (130) through which the fluid passes when pressurized by the pressure member (80).

A means for detecting the presence of a transparent liquid in the barrel of a transparent angiography syringe comprising a plurality of indicator patterns positioned on the exterior of the barrel, the indicator patterns arranged in a helical array circumscribing the barrel of the syringe. When the syringe is empty, each indicator pattern is seen as having a first elliptical configuration; however, when the fluid is present in the barrel, the indicator pattern appears to have a second circular configuration, and the difference in apparent configuration is indicative of the presence of the liquid. The indicator patterns are arranged in a non-overlapping array, to permit non-obstructed viewing of the patterns, as well as ready comparison of distorted and non-distorted patterns.

A method of substituting an MRI incompatible pump for delivering fluid to a patient with an MRI compatible pump, both pumps being microprocessor controlled. The first pump operates upon administration tubing for pumping fluid from a source thereof to the patient. The method includes the steps of: providing the second pump to be substituted for the first pump; providing second tubing having a portion thereof that is operable to function with the second pump; connecting the second tubing to the administration tubing to establish an altered fluid path from the source to the patient, the altered path including portions of both the administration and second tubing; placing the second pump for operation upon the second tubing to enable the second pump to pump the fluid through the altered path according to programming thereof; and disconnecting the first pump from the administration tubing before bringing the patient into the MRI environment.

A guide catheter having a tubular body with a wire-braided Teflon core and a polyurethane jacket. The distal end of the jacket is removed from the core, and a soft polyurethane tip is applied to the core over the region where the jacket has been removed. The tip overlaps the core for approximately two millimeters and extends distally approximately two millimeters beyond the distal end of the core. The tip may be applied to the core as a separate tube bonded to it or be built up on the core by repeatedly dipping the top in a polyurethane slurry, or be molded onto the distal end of the core.

A medical connector includes a body defining a lumen for fluid flow through the medical connector. The medical connector includes a luer member and an annular member disposed about the luer member. The annular member includes internal and/or external engagement structures. The medical connector may be provided on the outlet of a syringe or on a catheter. A fluid path is disclosed including a first section and a second section. The first and second sections may each include a medical connector to provide a removable connection with a syringe and a catheter, respectively. The medical connector may provide a removable connection between the first and second sections. A fluid delivery system is disclosed including an injector, a syringe operatively associated with the injector, and a fluid path connecting the syringe and a source of injection. The medical connector may provide a removable connection between the syringe and fluid path.

An apparatus for holding a fluid container, such as a syringe or a vial, is provided for securing the container in an upside down or other suitable position for use in various medical procedures such as those of the type that involve use of a medical pump. The fluid container holding apparatus is capable of operatively connecting to any of a number of support structures including a wall, ceiling, desk, table, post, hangar, or IV stand. A fluid delivery system including such a fluid container, and a fluid conduit, such as IV tubing, may include the fluid container holding apparatus of the present invention.
