The method provides an information storage and retrieval system comprising first information, a first logical partition, and a second logical partition, where the first information is disposed in the first logical partition. The method further provides a data extraction algorithm, forms second information comprising an instantaneous point-in-time copy of the first information, and forms third information from the second information using the data extraction algorithm. The method then migrates the third information from the first logical partition to the second logical partition, and provides access rights to that third information to one or more computing devices capable of communicating with the information storage and retrieval system.

In addition, in the exercise mode, the generator generates an exercise voltage that is less than the predetermined output voltage.

    摘要: A polarity reversal protective circuit for an electronic power output stage that can be driven via a drive circuit is described. In the case of an incorrect polarization of a supply voltage, power FETs are used in at least one supply terminal to interrupt a connection of the wrongly applied supply voltage to the drive circuit and the power output stage. A definite polarity reversal protection is obtained using a circuit that is improved with respect to cost and space requirement. A single N-channel power FET is looped, with its source-drain path, into the positive supply terminal of the supply voltage. The source terminal of the N-channel power FET is connected with the positive supply terminal. The gate terminal of the N-channel power FET is connected to a collector of a PNP transistor, which is additionally connected to an output of the drive circuit via a current-limiting resistor. An emitter of the PNP transistor is connected—via a diode that is conductive when the supply voltage is wrongly applied—to the positive supply terminal. The base of the PNP transistor is connected—via a base resistor—to a negative (ground) supply terminal of the supply voltage.

The device according to the invention for operating the gas discharge lamp (13) largely prevents the arc comprised in the gas discharge lamp (13) from going out during the pole-changing process and therefore ensures reignition following the pole-changing process. A preferred application of the device according to the invention is a gas discharge lamp (13) which is installed in a motor vehicle.

    摘要: An engine-driven generator includes an internal combustion engine, a permanent magnet alternator and an AC to AC converter. The output frequency and voltage of the permanent magnet alternator are largely dependent on engine speed and the alternator load. The AC to AC converter converts the speed-dependent alternating potential developed by the alternator to another alternating potential whose frequency and voltage are largely independent of engine speed. Voltage regulation is provided by varying the engine speed in accordance with the load current. Frequency regulation is provided by frequency dividing the alternator output by an integer divisor that varies in accordance with engine speed. Additional voltage regulation is provided by deleting selected cycles of the alternator output current as needed to maintain the RMS output voltage within predetermined limits. A stepper motor coupled to the throttle of the internal combustion engine controls the speed of the engine in accordance with commands received from an electronic system control.
