Abstract:
Apparatuses, methods and storage medium associated with characterizing a fluid sample based on response of a non-planar structure are disclosed herein. In embodiments, an apparatus may include a non-planar structure having an exterior (e.g., a curved exterior) and a core having a content to change (e.g., by osmosis) responsive to application of the fluid sample to the non-planar structure. The apparatus may include one or more processors, devices, and/or circuitry to identify a value indicative of a characteristic of the fluid based on the measurement. Other embodiments may be disclosed or claimed.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus to generate augmented content regions for augmented reality (AR) systems are disclosed. An example method includes receiving from a plurality of AR devices data representing a plurality of sight lines captured using the plurality of AR devices, identifying a plurality of commonalities of the plurality of sight lines based on the data representing the plurality of sight lines, and defining an augmented content region based on the plurality of commonalities.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus relating to efficient and/or robust link power management of a UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) interface are described. In an embodiment, logic causes a link to enter into a low power consumption state in response to a message exchange over data lines of a UART (Universal Asynchronous Receiver/Transmitter) interface. The message exchange over the data lines of the UART interface is followed by a modification to one or more flow control signals coupled to the UART interface. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for determining biological effects of environmental sounds are disclosed. An example apparatus includes a sound characteristic analyzer to identify a sound event based on audio data in an environment. The example apparatus includes a physiological data analyzer to identify a physiological event based on physiological response data collected from a user exposed to the sound event in the environment. The example apparatus includes a correlation identifier to identify a correlation between the sound event and the physiological event and a report generator to generate a report based on the correlation.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for detecting train rail and railcar anomalies are disclosed herein. In an example, detecting anomalies includes: receiving measurements from a sensor array coupled to a railcar in a train; obtaining baseline measurements from the sensor array; obtaining, in near real time, measurements from the sensor array while the railcar is operating; and detecting a railcar anomaly based a comparison between the baseline and operating measurements. In an example, the comparison of baseline and operating measurements includes evaluating, over a sequence of time data points, inertia sensor measurements (such as caused by side to side railcar movement) to detect abnormal railcar oscillation. In further examples, the data indexed to a GPS location is stored in a database, and respective alerts are transmitted or outputted to an output device (such as a display device) when an anomaly is detected based on the collected measurements from the railcars.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, systems, and storage media for creating, discovering, and/or resolving spells using a wand are provided. In embodiments, a computing device or a wand may detect one or more gestures and sensors in the wand may generate sensor data representative of the one or more gestures. The one or more gestures may be movements performed using the wand. The computing device or wand may convert the sensor data representative of the one or more gestures into a spell sequence. The wand may transmit the spell sequence to a computing device, and receive, from the computing device, a spell output based on the spell sequence and a wand position. The wand may also determine the spell output based on the spell sequence without transmitting the spell sequence to another device. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
Abstract:
A computing system of an electronic puzzle includes a memory, an electronically controlled lock, and a plurality of sensors to generate sensor data. The computing system controls the electronically controlled lock to regulate access to an inner chamber of the electronic puzzle and monitors the sensor data generated by the plurality of sensors. The computing system generates an input password based on the monitored sensor data, compares the input password to a puzzle password stored in the memory, and unlocks the electronically controlled lock to permit access to the inner chamber in response to a determination that the input password matches the puzzle password.
Abstract:
Described is a system which includes: a cable including: a first fiber optic interconnect to provide an input light; and a second fiber optic interconnect to provide an output light; and a first housing coupled to the cable, the first housing including: a first deflection circuit to deflect the input light received from the first fiber optic interconnect in response to a vibration or movement of the first housing; and a second housing coupled to the cable, the second housing including: a light source to generate the input light for transmission to the first deflection circuit via the first fiber optic interconnect; and a photo detector to receive the output light from the first deflection circuit via the second fiber optic interconnect.
Abstract:
Apparatuses and methods associated with block structure and robot cooperation are disclosed herein. In embodiments, a block apparatus may include a block structure-robot coordination module to cooperate with one or more robots to affect operations of the one or more robots relative to at least a block structure which the block apparatus is a member. The block apparatus may further include a housing that houses the block structure-robot coordination module, with features to mate the block apparatus with one or more other blocks to cause the block apparatus to become a member of the block structure. In embodiments, a robot may include control module to control a number of actuators to operate one or more features to perform one or more operations relative to the block structure. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, systems, and storage media for emulating physical gaming experiences are provided. In embodiments, a computing device or a remote play module may detect a first object in a field of view (FOV), obtain object data representative of a second object detected by another apparatus and a position of the second object, determine a position of the first object using the sensor data, generate an image of the second object based on the object data, generate an overlay image based on the first object or the second object, display the generated image at a position within the FOV based on the position of the second object, and display the overlay image within the FOV. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.
