摘要： A pair of meshed gears is disposed in a hydraulic chamber of a housing. Bushes in the chamber contact both end surfaces of the gears. Edge surfaces of the gears are chamfered at intermediate parts between tooth tips and tooth bottoms, and the inclination of the intermediate parts is larger than those of the tooth tips and bottom, thereby protecting the edges from damage due to contact force as the gears mesh and preventing leakage between the gears and the support members. Accordingly, the gears may be operated quietly, at high output efficiency, and increased reliability for an extended period.

摘要： A stator for use in an electric rotating machine is provided which includes a stator winding wound through slots of a stator core. The stator winding is made up of a plurality of conductor segments connected together. Each of the conductor segments includes an in-slot portion disposed inside one of the slots and out-slot portions extending from the in-slot portion outside at least one of the ends of the stator core. Ends of the out-slot portions are joined together to form the stator winding. The joints of the ends of the out-slot portions have a given pattern of texture formed on surfaces thereof and coated with an insulating material. The pattern of texture enhances the adhesion of the insulating coatings to the surfaces of the joints and ensures the stability in electric insulation of the joints.

摘要： An image processing apparatus structured by combining an image reading apparatus and an image formation apparatus with each other enables a user to freely combine these apparatuses without considering the sum of power consumption of the image reading apparatus and power consumption of the image formation apparatus. When the sum of power consumption of a reader unit and power consumption of a printer unit exceeds, e.g., 1.5 kW, the reader unit is set to be in a low power consumption mode such that the sum of power consumption becomes equal to or smaller than 1.5 kW. Even when the low power consumption mode of the least power consumption quantity is selected and the sum of power consumption still exceeds 1.5 kW, use of the apparatus is inhibited and the inhibition is displayed.

摘要： An apparatus and method that reproduces a voice signal at different rates without a change in pitch. Neighboring voice waveforms having a same length and minimum form differences from an input voice signal are selected and overlapped. An output voice waveform is then generated that is rate converted by replacing a part of the voice waveform of the input voice signal with the overlapped voice waveforms, or, alternatively, by inserting the overlapped voice waveforms into the voice waveform of the input voice signal.

摘要： Disclosed is an image processing apparatus in which, when the apparatus has not been not used for a prescribed period of time, control is performed so as to halt feed of current not only to a display unit and fixing heater but also to other components not required to operate when the apparatus is not in use, and in which on/off control of the power supply also can be performed through a more compact and less expensive arrangement. When a manually operated switch is being pressed by an operator, a transistor is turned on via the contacts of the switch so that power from a smoothing unit is applied to a regulator. The regulator supplies operating power to a microcomputer, which subsequently controls the status of the apparatus power supply depending upon the on/off state of an output port of the microcomputer. Supply of driving power to other components of the apparatus is achieved by opening and closing contacts through control of a relay in response to an output from another output port of the microcomputer.

摘要： There is a multi-color copying apparatus having image processing functions which can easily designate arbitrary areas when the trimming or masking is executed. This apparatus comprises: an area designating device to designate the first area of the original; a first developing device to develop the image of the first area in the first color; a second developing device to develop the image of the second area in the second color; and a control circuit for making the first developing device operative without making the second developing device operative in accordance with the designation of the first area and, after completion of the development of the image of the first area, making the second developing device operative without making the first developing device operative. The control circuit inhibits the operation of the first or second developing device by moving the first or second developing device to a position away from the photo sensitive drum, or by applying the bias voltage to the first or second developing device such that the toner from the inoperative developing device is not deposited onto the drum.

摘要： An image forming apparatus has a reciprocatingly movable member for forming an image on a record medium. The reciprocatingly movable member is moved and set to a predetermined home position before a first image is formed. A sensor is associated with the moving and setting operation of the reciprocatingly movable member. An error is detected if the sensor does not sense within a predetermined time which is clocked in synchronism with a control means.
