    摘要: An extruded capacitive sensor assembly includes multiple sense conductors of unequal length disposed in an upper section of a non-conductive jacket, and a ground conductor disposed in a lower section of the jacket adjacent a panel or carrier to which the strip is affixed. A sensor strip with three sense conductors is formed by extruding a non-conductive jacket having first and second sense conductors in the upper section of the jacket, and severing the first sense conductor to create three unequal length sense conductor segments. Electrical termination to the sense and ground conductors can be made at the point where the first sense conductor is severed, or at the end of the sensor strip. In cases where only two sense conductor segments are needed, the third sense conductor segment is removed or simply un-used.

Further, the converter comprises a charge-storage capacitor bank, a voltage-scale resistive ladder network, first and second comparators, an output stage amplifier, and an arrangement of electronically controlled switches and capacitors that cancel the DC offset conditions within the analog-to-digital converter in such a way that the DC offset conditions do not jeopardize the accuracy of the converter.

    摘要: A Stop On Station (SOS) circuit for a AM and FM radio receivers evaluates field strength of a received station signal and in addition measures and evaluates the frequency of the IF signal so as to assure that the received signal is essentially centered at the IF frequency to identify candidate stations signals which are suitable for listening. The IF frequency for a received candidate station signal is evaluated for an evaluation period of time (e.g., for 40 milliseconds). During each 40 millisecond period, fifteen samples of the frequency of the IF signal are counted and evaluated. If the frequency of the measured signal falls within acceptable limits, a four stage binary persistence counter is incriminated. If a count of 12 or more out of the 15 possible counts is accumulated therein during a 40 ms evaluation period, a station signal is considered to be suitable from a standpoint of received frequency and a "frequency pass" signal is generated. The SOS circuit, in turn, generates a "Stop" signal if the AGC signal is above a predetermined threshold at the time the pass signal occurs. In this case of FM signals, the magnitude of ultrasonic noise (noise in the range of 100 kHz to 200 kHz) in the output of the FM detector is measured and used to identify acceptable station signals. Noise above a threshold value eliminates a station signal from consideration.

    摘要: An inverting amplifier useful in an oscillator circuit includes complementary serially connected first and second metal-oxide-semiconductor field effort transistor (MOSFETS) and first and second resistors, two capacitors, a first feedback circuit having two MOSFETS in series with a third resistor and a second feedback circuit having two MOSFETS and a fourth resistor in series. Each feedback circuit provides a feed back path from the drain of one of the output transistors to the gate thereof. The resistors are polysilicon type resistors and have a negative thermal coefficient. The amplifier has a very stable output signal amplitude which is essentially independent of integrated circuit manufacturing processing variations and operating temperature variations within useful ranges.

The system uses an arrangement of switches and capacitors to shift relatively high absolute voltages of a battery stack to a relative low voltage level so lower voltage electronics can be used to monitor cell voltages. The system may be configured to provide a single ended measurement or a differential measurement indicative of a cell voltage. The differential measurement may be advantageous to correct or offset signal noise caused by electromagnetic interference (EMI).

    摘要: A crystal oscillator circuit that provides a low distortion clocking signal. The oscillator circuit incorporates an inverter circuit in combination with a diode connected transmission gate circuit. The transmission gate circuit includes two MOSFETs connected between input and output nodes of the inverter circuit. When the current at the input node goes high and the current at the output node goes low, one of the two transmission gate circuit MOSFETs will begin conducting such that current at the input node will be transferred to the output node, thus decreasing the voltage difference between the two nodes. Likewise, when the current at the output node goes high and the current at the input node goes low, the other MOSFET of the transmission gate circuit will begin to conduct such that current is transferred from the output node to the input node, again reducing the voltage difference between the input and output node. Additionally, the transmission gate circuit provides the impedance necessary to generate oscillation of the oscillator circuit at start-up to regulate the output voltage swing of the oscillator circuit.

    摘要: A switched capacitance detection circuit is responsive to changes in the fringing capacitance of a capacitive proximity sensor having at least one capacitive sensor element. In cases where the sensor has a single sensor element, the switching frequency of the detection circuit is controlled to maintain measurement accuracy in the presence of sensor moisture while minimizing power consumption and electromagnetic radiation. In cases where the sensor has multiple sensor elements, the capacitance values for each sensor element are differenced, absolute-valued and summed to form an output in which common-mode effects due to sensor moisture, temperature and sensor aging are canceled out.
