摘要: A pulse width modulation apparatus and method operates a switch at one of four slew rates to minimize electromagnetic and harmonic interference or switching losses. One of the four slew rates is selected based on a detected over-current condition, with or without a start up operation condition, an over-temperature condition and a normal working mode.

摘要: A circuit and method for operating a MOSFET control circuit, having a maximum supply voltage limit, with a system operating voltage greater than the maximum supply voltage limit. The system operating voltage is referenced to a first ground. The MOSFET control circuit has a power supply input for receiving the system operating voltage and for generating a signal having a maximum voltage level and a minimum voltage level. A ground floating circuit includes a second ground, having a greater potential than the first ground, for establishing a voltage difference between the MOSFET control circuit power supply input and the second ground. The voltage difference being less than the maximum supply voltage limit. A first signal level shifting circuit shifts one of the maximum voltage level and the minimum voltage level of the signal from a first reference voltage to a second reference voltage. The method includes the steps of providing the MOSFET control circuit; establishing the voltage difference with the ground floating circuit including the second ground; and shifting one of the maximum voltage level and the minimum voltage level of the signal from a first reference voltage to a second reference voltage with a first signal level shifting circuit.

摘要: The invention relates to small RNAs encoded within the nucleus of mammalian cells that specifically import to the mitochondria. The RNAs bind to several nucleolar peptides and thus provide potential carriers for import of biological molecules, including metabolites and proteins, into the mitochondrial compartment. Mitochondrial dysfunction in several maternally inherited human diseases may be correctable employing linkage of mitochondrial import signal to mitochondrial tRNA sequences expressed from nuclear trans-genes without requirement for direct genetic transformation of mitochondria.

摘要: A diagnostic system for diagnosing faults in a trailer electrical system generally includes a mode determination module that determines a current operating mode to be one of a sleep mode, a normal mode, a situational awareness mode, and an adaptive calibration mode. A first mode module operates when the current operating mode is the normal mode and during operation, diagnoses an open circuit fault of the trailer electrical system based on a comparison of a current load on the trailer electrical system and an average load.

摘要: A variable frequency pulse width modulated apparatus and method supplies variable frequency and variable duty cycle power to a load, particularly an electric load of a motor vehicle, and preferably to a filament-type lamp such as a headlight. Which one of the two frequencies are selected is based on a monitored battery parameter, such as a comparison between the current supplied to the battery by an alternator and the current drawn from the battery by a load, with a higher one of the two frequencies being selected when the input current exceeds the output current and the lower frequency being selected when the battery input current is less than the output current. The duty cycle is variably selectable with either first or second pulse width modulated frequency.

摘要: Formulation polymer dopes and development of processes for preparing asymmetric polyethersulfone hollow fiber membranes for gas separation are provided. Polyethersulfone hollow fiber membranes which exhibit improved gas permeability and selectivity have been produced from a formulated polymer dope containing N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) and suitable nonsolvent-additives (NSA). The nonsolvent-additives are water and the mixture of ethanol and water. The dopes were tailored to be close to the point of phase separation, and have moderate polymer concentration with moderate viscosity. The hollow fibers were spun by the dry-wet phase inversion processes using water as both the internal and external coagulant. The dried hollow fibers are then coated with silicone rubber, a highly permeable material and the coated hollow fiber membranes exhibit excellent permeability and selectivity compared to those of the state-of-the-art polyethersulfone membranes.

摘要: Systems, computer-readable media, and methods for generating search engine results pages are provided. A user provides a search engine with one or more query terms. The query terms may be associated with an intent, e.g. product entity, store entity, person entity. The search engine classifies the query and identifies search results that correspond to the query. The search results are grouped based on intents associated with the query. A graphical user interface displays the grouped on search results and allows the user to modify the groupings. The graphical user interface is also updated with entity or entity attributes corresponding to the intents used to group the search results.

摘要: A system and method for detecting the presence of a voltage on a ground conductor which is coupled to a protective Earth (PE) terminal associated with a power source. The power source is used to apply a voltage to a device. The system may use a high impedance device coupled across a switch, with the switch being in communication with a portion of the device. A control system may monitor a voltage across the high impedance device and determine if the voltage across the high impedance device exceeds a predetermined threshold. Exceeding the predetermined threshold indicates that an unsafe voltage from the power source is present on the ground conductor. A natural high impedance path between the device and the Earth is used to provide an Earth connection through the device to the Earth during operation of the system.

摘要: An entity-based search system is described herein that detects and recognizes entities in Internet-based content and uses this recognition to organize search results. The system associates one or more entity identifiers with a web page and stores this information as metadata of the page in a search engine index. This metadata will enable entity-based queries as well as rich data presentations in a search engine result page (SERP), including grouping results by entities, filtering results by one or more particular entities, or re-ranking search results based on user preference of entities. Thus, the entity-based search system allows users to identify a particular entity the user is interested in finding, and to receive search results directly related to that entity.
