Abstract:
A curable prepreg or semipreg material comprising a layer of fibers and a substantially non-flowable curable resin having a layer of porous sheet material on an outer surface, the material allows automatic lay-up of high fiber content prepregs or semiprepregs typically used in industrial applications such as wind turbine blades.
Abstract:
A prepreg comprising a single structural layer of electrically conductive unidirectional fibers and a first outer layer of curable resin substantially free of structural fibers, and optionally a second outer layer of curable resin substantially free of structural fibers, the sum of the thicknesses of the first and second outer resin layers at a given point having an average of at least 10 micrometers and varying over at least the range of from 50% to 120% of the average value, and wherein the first outer layer comprises electrically conductive particles.
Abstract:
There is disclosed a method for treating textiles comprising applying to the textile an enzyme having a specific activity towards the textile, under conditions such that there is substantially no mechanical agitation.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel Neospora caninum isolate from Nowra and extracts thereof. The strain is useful in the development of diagnostic assays for the detection of parasites in animals. The present invention also relates to pharmaceutical compositions, using live or killed organisms or extracts thereof, for the treatment and prevention of parasitic infections in animals.
Abstract:
Moulding material that includes a layer of fibrous reinforcing material having one surface on which a first layer of a resin partially impregnates the fibrous material and a further resin layer located on the opposite surface which retains in position surface fibers of the fibrous material. The further resin layer is of lower weight than the first layer and is formed as an openwork structure with a solid part and spaces through which the fibrous material is exposed.
Abstract:
A method for directly converting packet-based voice data of two non-compatible formats, (e.g., VoIP and VOATM), is described. A VoIP call agent sets a connection between a VoIP edge gateway and an interworking unit (IWU). The IWU allows the VoATM network to appear as a TDM network to the VoIP call agent. The VoIP call agent selects a virtual trunk group and channel identification code through the interworking unit and transmits the selection to a VoATM call agent. The IWU allows the VoIP network to appear as a TDM network to the VoATM call agent such that the VoATM call agent establishes a connection between the virtual trunk group and a VoATM network device. The IWU allows the VoATM network to appear as a TDM network to the VoIP call agent such that the VoIP call agent establishes a connection between the virtual trunk group and a VoIP network device.
Abstract:
A chuck for a laser cutting/engraving rotary fixture comprises a chuck plate having a chuck plate axis of rotation and at least two mount brackets spaced symmetrically radially with respect to one another about the chuck plate axis of rotation. Each mount bracket comprises an inclined contact surface and each mount bracket is rotateably attached to the chuck plate about the mount bracket axis of rotation. The inclined contact surface can be selectively rotated between a first position with the inclined contact surface inclined toward the mount plate axis of rotation and a second position with the inclined contact surface inclined away from the mount plate axis of rotation. An effectively concave contact surface is defined with each of the inclined contact surfaces in the first position. An effectively convex contact surface is defined with each of the mount brackets in the second position for engaging an inner diameter of a work piece.
Abstract:
A polymer adapted for the Shrink resist treatment of textile materials imparting water, stain and/or oil repellency. The polymer includes a fluorinated polyether.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods for treating, preventing and diagnosing Helicobacter infection are disclosed. The methods use proteins and/or nucleic acids derived from Helicobacter cerdo, a new pathogen isolated from swine. In addition, porcine models for studying bacterial gastritis and gastric and duodenal ulcer disease caused by Helicobacter pathogens, such as H. pylori and H. cerdo are described, as well as methods of identifying vaccines and compounds for treating and/or preventing Helicobacter infection using the animal models. Also described are methods of preventing Helicobacter infection in swine, such as infection caused by H. cerdo, using immunogenic proteins and nucleic acids derived from Helicobacter pathogens, such as H. pylori.
Abstract:
The cloning of a novel PCVII viral genome is described as is expression of proteins derived from the PCVII genome. These proteins can be used in vaccine compositions for the prevention and treatment of PCVII infections, as well as in diagnostic methods for determining the presence of PCVII infections in a vertebrate subject. Polynucleotides derived from the viral genome can be used as diagnostic primers and probes.
