摘要: A dry sprinkler installation and sealing device for a cold environment is disclosed. The dry sprinkler installation includes a supply conduit having a first end adapted to communicate with a fire retardant fluid source and a second end supporting a sprinkler head. The supply conduit is dimensioned to extend through an opening in a wall of a cold environment, e.g., a freezer ceiling. A flexible sealing device is positioned about the supply conduit adjacent an exterior surface of the cold environment. A first end of the sealing device is secured about the supply conduit and a second end of the sealing device is secured to an exterior surface of the cold environment. The flexible sealing device allows for radial and axial adjustments to the supply conduit and sprinkler head without compromising the integrity of the sealing device.

摘要: A conveyor chain formed of parallel links with pins extending laterally therefrom has pads mounted to the pins. Each pad has an elongated planar upper surface extending further than the distance between adjacent pins on the links. A notch on each end of the pad enables adjacent pads to overlap each other, and the shape of a notch and location of apertures in the pad enables the upper surfaces to define a substantially continuous contact surface when adjacent chain links are not wrapped, and enable the chain to engage a drive sprocket regardless of the direction of wrap.

摘要: Process to use water, methyl alcohol, and baking soda to make hydrogen and oxygen to increase fuel mileage on gasoline, diesel and LP gas engines using the process generally known as “Electrolysis” with many modifications. A device and method for producing hydrogen and oxygen gases from Water Solutions and simultaneously using the gases produced to supplement fuels used to operate the vehicle or engine. The solution used in the Electrolytic container is water and sodium bicarbonate [baking soda]. The hydrogen and oxygen-producing device is powered by as many as 5,500 amperes [DC or AC], generator or alternator, using the vehicle engine alternator or generator to produce the current to power the electrolytic cell. The electrolytic container is kept at a constant solution level. The water solution temperature may be controlled by either a low-pressure air conditioning line, a water-cooling line with a thermostatic control valve, on-off temperature control switch or water-cooling fins. The electrolytic cell is equipped with means to control the energy load, water level, gas flow and presenting the hydrogen and oxygen into the combustion chamber of the vehicle and or the engine.

摘要: A system level automatic gain control (“System AGC”) automatically initializes and controls analog microphone gain in an environment where multiple independent applications simultaneously receive an input from a single analog microphone or microphone array. In one embodiment, the System AGC also prevents those applications from acting to separately control the gain by intercepting external gain control commands and responding to the corresponding application with a corresponding digital gain applied to the input signal from the microphone. Consequently, the System AGC avoids problems relating to oscillations and instability in the microphone gain resulting from multiple applications trying to simultaneously control the gain while preventing each application from adversely affecting the quality of another application's audio capture signal. Further, in one embodiment, the System AGC also acts to maximize the signal to noise (SNR) ratio of the microphone without introducing clipping as a function of a sampled background environment.

摘要: A vacuum packaging machine includes a plurality of vacuum chambers (3a, 3b) each arranged to receive at least one unsealed product package and operable to perform an independent vacuum sealing operation, each vacuum chamber having a longitudinal direction defined by a direction of travel of the respective product package through the chamber (3a, 3b), each chamber having a heat seal assembly (15) therein which extends transversely to the longitudinal direction. An infeed conveyor (17) can be provided with a telescoping portion (17a) which can extend over the heat seal assembly or a part thereof. Each vacuum chamber can have a respective bed (9) and independently moveable hood (11), and the beds (9) can be synchronously vertically moveable. The vacuum packaging machine can be used in combination with a suitable product bagging or wrapping machine.

摘要: A device for producing a plane of light includes a ring flash and/or halogen lamps mounted in a casing defining an inner peripheral aperture slot and an outer peripheral aperture slot coplanar with the inner slot. The device is used in surveying structures and in particular for optically producing photographically recorded tunnel sections. The light plane emitted from the device has high intensity and resolution and serves to illuminate a line profile of the tunnel in the light plane. The photographic image obtained has good contrast and quality and permits on-line numerical analysis to detect deformations.
