    摘要: Antiskid hydraulic braking system comprising a first shutoff valve operable to shutoff hydraulic pressure from a master cylinder to wheel cylinder as the brakes tend to lock the wheels of a vehicle. Wheel cylinders are connected to a reservoir through a second shutoff valve which relieves hydraulic pressure at the wheel cylinders until the tendency toward wheel lock disappears. The system further comprises an intermittently operable high speed hydraulic pump, such as a piezoelectric pump, which serves to pump the brake fluid in the reservoir to the wheel cylinders to restore hydraulic pressure in the wheel cylinders. The piezoelectric pump comprises a pump plunger having a small diameter head defining a pumping chamber and a large diameter base defining a delivery or pressure chamber. The brake fluid under pressure in the delivery chamber acts upon the plunger base to hydraulically preload the piezoelectric elements.

    摘要: A multiple-turn scroll pump comprises a pumping unit on each lateral side of a base plate of an oscillatable scroll piston driven by an eccentric drive. Each pumping unit includes a spirally shaped groove in a scroll housing and a spirally shaped displacement blade forming part of the scroll piston. The groove in one of the pumping units extends from the peripheral part of the scroll housing through at least one turn of a spiral and terminates at the intermediate part of the housing. The groove in the other pumping unit also begins close to the peripheral part of the scroll housing but extends through a number of spiral turns greater than that of the groove in the first pumping unit. Passages are provided in the scroll piston to communicate grooves in both units in such a manner that the fluid drawn into the first pumping unit is compressed mainly in the second pumping unit and is discharged solely therefrom. Mechanism for constraining the movement of the oscillating piston with respect to the scroll housing is conveniently housed within the confinement of the groove in the first pumping unit to reduce the overall radial dimension of the pump.

    摘要: Hydraulic fluid supply system for supplying high pressure hydraulic fluid to power actuators for power steering systems includes a pumping mechanism having independent pumping chambers adapted to discharge fluid to a supply line leading to the power actuator. The supply line contains a variable orifice and a flow control valve responsive to the pressure difference generated by the variable orifice. The pumping chambers include at least first and second pumping chambers connected to first and second feed lines. A switching valve operatively interconnected to the variable orifice and actuated by an electrically operable drive mechanism selectively connects the second feed line to the supply line or to the first feed line. When the drive mechanism shifts the switching valve so that the second feed line leading to the second pumping chamber is switched from the first feed line to communicate with the supply line, a part of the high pressure fluid flowing through the fluid line is returned to the second pumping chamber by bypassing the power actuator thereby disabling the second pumping chamber and reducing the flow rate of the fluid flowing to the power actuator. Disablement of the second pumping chamber during "drooping" reduces the effective overall displacement capacity of the pumping mechanism thereby saving a considerable amount of power. The system may be electronically controlled depending on various operational conditions of the vehicle and the like.

    摘要: A rotary compressor including a housing having therethrough a cylindrical bore, end plates attached to the housing to close the open axial ends of the bore respectively, an eccentric rotor rotatable in the bore and vanes slidably mounted in the rotor. A working chamber defined between the adjacent pair of vanes communicates with a discharge chamber outside of the housing through a discharge opening in the wall of the housing. First and second passages have their respective one ends opening to the cylindrical bore and the respective other ends communicating with the discharge chamber. The one end of the first passage is positioned at a location or adjacent thereto where the leading one of the adjacent pair of vanes is positioned when the working chamber defined therebetween has its volume starting to decrease. The one end of the second passage is positioned at a location where the one end of the second passage together with the discharge opening is opened to one of the discharge chambers with the latter having its volume decreased and communicating with the discharge opening. First and second check valves respectively in the passages are opened only when the working chambers respectively associated with the passages have therein pressures higher than respective predetermined values.

    摘要: A rotary electric machine comprising a housing containing therein several parts which are to be heated during operation of the machine, and a centrifugal cooling fan for producing an air circulation through the housing so as to cool the heated parts. The cooling fan is made of a disc-shaped metal plate having on its periphery a plurality of fan blades each formed by bending a radially outer portion of the metal plate upstandingly with respect to the surface thereof, and a plurality of notches each defined between the adjacent fan blades. A backing disc-plate is disposed at the back side of the cooling fan in a manner to block therewith the notches, thereby preventing an air from passing through the notches in an opposite direction from an ordinary air flow passing through the housing. The disc-plate and the cooling fan are disposed to define a small clearance therebetween for preventing rattling noises from being produced during rotation of the cooling fan due to an occasional vibratory contact therebetween.
