摘要: A flowmeter is provided that comprises a leadframe assembly (140) and a body (144) disposed at least partially around the leadframe assembly (140). The body (144) has a flow passage therethrough that comprises a first channel (178) having a first port (166), a second channel (180) having a second port (168), and a flow altering element (182) disposed within the second channel (180). First and second pressure sensors (174 and 176) are disposed within the body (144) and coupled to the leadframe assembly (140) for measuring a first pressure within the first channel (178) and a second pressure within the second channel (180), respectively. An integrated circuit (155), which is coupled to the leadframe assembly (140), to the first pressure sensor (174), and to the second pressure sensor (176), is configured to determine the rate of flow through the flow passage from the first pressure and the second pressure.

摘要: In one embodiment, a wellbore power generation method includes causing a fluid to flow through a downhole turbine, and causing the turbine to rotate a generator. At least one of a turbine configuration and a flow rate of the fluid is selected to cause the downhole turbine to operate near its runaway speed, such that changes in load applied to the generator do not substantially affect a rotation rate of the downhole turbine.

摘要: A sewer backup alarm and overflow prevention device eliminates raw sewage spills by preventing pressure buildup in sewer drains. One or more sewage level sensors may be coupled to an alarm and/or to an automatic water main shut-off valve. The level sensor may detect excess fluid levels in a sewer lateral line. The sewer backup alarm and overflow prevention device may include a joggle which is a component of a non-mechanical backflow prevention device. The level sensor may detect fluid levels in the lower portion of the joggle and activate the automatic water main shut-off valve and/or the alarm. The sewer backup alarm and overflow prevention device may include at least one two-way, in-line cleanout tube which may extend vertically upwardly from the joggle. The level sensor may be mounted in the vertical cleanout tube. The components may be contained within a seamless polyethylene vault for ease of installation and protection against root intrusion.

摘要: A method of manufacturing a multi-filamentary superconducting wire comprises making a laminate of an expanded base metal lamina and a reactant metal lamina, tightly wrapping the laminate around a metal core and then hydrostatically extruding it. The expanded base metal may be either niobium or vanadium, the reactant metal may be one of tin, aluminum, germanium, gallium, and titanium. In the making of Nb3Sn superconducting wire, the reactant metal may be an alloy of tin, for example, Babbitt metal. A third lamina may be added to the laminate to prevent radial movement of the reactant metal during processing.

摘要: Multimedia distribution systems are disclosed in which servers communicate with clients via audio, video, overlay and/or control channels. Information sent between the clients and servers on the audio, video and/or overlay channels includes timestamps. The timestamps coordinate the queuing and processing of information received by the client. Once information has been processed by the client, the client can report information concerning the timestamps associated with the processed information to the server. In one embodiment, the invention includes a server connected to a client via a network. In addition, at least one server is configured to communicate audio, video, overlay and control information with a client via separate audio, video, overlay and control channels, information transmitted on at least one of the audio, video and overlay channels includes time stamps, the client is configured to process the audio, video and overlay information for output to one or more rendering devices and the client is configured to transmit information concerning time stamps of processed information to the server via the control channel.

In one version of the invention, the monomer is selected from maleic anhydride, maleic acid esters, and mixtures thereof. In another version of the invention, the first amine is an alkylamine, such as tetradecylamine, and the second amine is a polyalkylene polyamine, such as pentaethylenehexamine. In yet another version of the invention, the first amine and the second amine are olefinic or acetylenic amines, such as the reaction products of an alkyldiamine and an acetylenic carboxylic acid. The first amine and the second amine may be the same or different depending on the desired polyamide polymer structure.
