Abstract:
A clamping apparatus adapted to be clamped to a table top in a do-it-yourself home workshop comprising a C-shaped clamping element provided with a guiding ledge and an upwardly projecting stop, both of which serve to contact a workpiece at a right angle intersection of the ledge and stop. The apparatus is further provided with a U-shaped clamping element which, in conjunction with the C-shaped clamping element, serves to hold said workpiece in a desired fixed position. The U clamp comprises a U-shaped body portion and a threaded screw element with a centering head on one end thereof and a knob on the other end which engages a threaded aperture on one leg of the U clamp. A centrally located aperture in the upwardly projecting stop of the C clamp cooperates with the centering head to axially guide such centering head of the screw element of the U clamp to thereby encircle the workpiece.
Abstract:
A milling gauge provided with slits and a guide piece for milling dovetail grooves into sheets or boards which are dovetailed together at right angles to each other. A milling cutter held by the guide piece is introduced into the slits of the gauge which is clamped with the board onto a work bench. The gauge has a body portion provided with counter guides for the guide piece. Two comb-like guide plates are formed in the body of the gauge and are oriented at right angles to each other thus giving the possibility to introduce the cutter in two different directions into the gauge body for cutting grooves in one board in its transversal direction and in another board in its longitudinal direction.
Abstract:
A vise is combined with a C clamp and the C clamp is fitted with at least 2 plug members fitting into receiving holes in the vise or in the C clamp, there being a larger number of holes than plug members whereby the C clamp, plugs and holes permit various orientations of the vise on a work bench.
Abstract:
A method and system is provided for detecting, commanding and controlling diverse home devices currently connected to a home network. An interface is provided for accessing the home devices that are currently connected to a home network. According to the method, a device link file is generated, wherein the device link file identifies home devices that are currently connected to the home network. A device link page is created, wherein the device link page contains a device button that is associated with each home device that is identified in the device link file. A hyper-text link is associated with each device button, wherein the hyper-text link provides a link to an HTML page that is contained on the home device that is associated with the device button, and the device link page is displayed on a browser based home device.
Abstract:
Enhanced portal security is provided through stereoscopy, including a stereo door sensor for detecting and optionally preventing access violations, such as piggybacking and tailgating. A portal security system can include a 3D imaging system that generates a target volume from plural 2D images of a field of view about a portal; and a processor that detects and tracks people candidates moving through the target volume to detect a portal access event.

Abstract:
A hub that controls the acquisition of images from a plurality of image sources utilizes image acquisition logic that selectively applies a first set of control signals (e.g., “shutter” signals) to imaging devices, causing them to acquire images. The logic applies a second set of control signals (e.g., “readout” signals) to the devices, causing them to output the images to the hub. Those images are transferred by the hub to a host over an isochronous communications medium.
Abstract:
A milling device for milling grooves into two boards to be joined together at right angles for comb-like wedge joints comprises a right-angled gauge with a supporting plate and a back plate. Both plates of the gauge are provided with slits in a comb-like way, with the slits passing in alignment into one another and being adapted to guide a guiding piece of the milling cutter. The supporting plate is provided at its free edge with projecting aligning fingers which are staggered with respect of the slits. By introducing the aligning fingers into the grooves of the first board, the second board can be exactly aligned for milling the corresponding wedges.
Abstract:
A working stand for collarless electrical home worker machines, which machines have at the end of their drive shaft a threaded section for screwing on or attachment of a drill chuck. A machine holder is moveable up and down a vertical polygon guide column and can be fixed in position at whatever desired height. The guide column has a toothing, in which there engages a gear which is driveable by means of a hand crank, the gear being mounted in the machine holder. The machine holder has a pair of adjustable clamping jaws embracing the polygon guide column. In the machine holder a vertical shaft is rotatably mounted, which shaft on the upper end has an axially interior threaded section for reception of the drive shaft of the machine and on the lower end, which end projects from the machine holder, has a threaded section for the screw-on attachment of the drill chuck.
