Abstract:
A system and method for optimizing the rankings of web pages of a commercial website within search engine keyword search results. A proxy website is created based on the content on the commercial website. When a search engine spider reaches the commercial website, the commercial website directs the search engine spider to the proxy website. The proxy website includes a series of proxy web pages that correspond to web pages on the commercial website along with modifications that enhance the rankings of the pages by the search engines. However, hyperlinks containing complex, dynamic URLs are replaced with spider-friendly versions. When a human visitor selects a proxy web page listing on the search engine results page, that visitor is directed to the proxy web page. The proxy server delivers the same content to the human visitor as to the search engine spider, only with simplified URLs for the latter.
Abstract:
A CD and DVD index sheet includes a tabbed single- or multi-page sheet placed on or between CD or DVD discs stored on a spool. The index sheet tab extends beyond the circumference of the discs and may be written or printed on to provide easy identification of an individual disc on the spool. The remainder of the index sheet may be printed or written on to provide additional information.
Abstract:
Molecular sieves are prepared by forming a reaction mixture slurry, spray drying the reaction mixture slurry to form particles, and heating the spray dried reaction mixture at a temperature and pressure sufficient to cause crystallization of the molecular sieve. The reaction mixture contains an organic templating agent capable of forming the molecular sieve. The template may be added to the reaction mixture either by adding all of the template prior to spray drying, or by adding a portion of the template prior to spray drying with the remainder being added after spray drying.
Abstract:
The present invention concerns a functional fluid comprising A) 1 to 99% by weight based on the total weight of the functional fluid of alkyl(meth)acrylate polymers obtainable by polymerizing a mixture of olefinically unsaturated monomers, which consists of a) 1-100 wt % based on the total weight of the ethylenically unsaturated monomers of one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of formula (I) where R is hydrogen or methyl, R1 means a linear or branched alkyl residue with 1-6 carbon atoms, R2 and R3 independently represent hydrogen or a group of the formula —COOR′, where R′ means hydrogen or a alkyl group with 1-6 carbon atoms, b) 0-99 wt % based on the total weight of the ethylenically unsaturated monomers of one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of formula (II) where R is hydrogen or methyl, R4 means a linear or branched alkyl residue with 7-40 carbon atoms, R5 and R6 independently are hydrogen or a group of the formula —COOR″, where R″ means hydrogen or an alkyl group with 7-40 carbon atoms, c) 0-50 wt % based on the total weight of the ethylenically unsaturated monomers comonomers, and B) 1 to 99% by weight based on the total weight of the functional fluid of an oxygen containing compound selected from to group of organophosphorus compounds, carboxylic acid esters and/or polyether polyols.
Abstract:
This invention is directed toward non-pathogenic human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) strains containing deletions in the nef gene and U3 region of the long terminal repeat (LTR). A blood donor infected with HIV-1 and a cohort of six blood or blood product recipients infected from this donor were identified. These individuals, who remained free of HIV-1-related disease with stable and normal CD4.sup.+ lymphocyte counts 10 to 14 years after infection, were termed long-term nonprogressors (LTNPs). The molecular characterization of HIV-1 sequences obtained from either virus isolates or patient peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) of LTNPs identified similar deletions in the nef gene and in the region of overlap of nef and the U3 region of the LTR. Full-length sequencing of one isolate genome and amplification of selected HIV-1 genome regions from other cohort members revealed no other abnormalities of obvious functional significance. These deletions corresponded to amino acids 166-206, or nucleotides 9281 to 9437, of the HIV-1.sub.NL43 nef/LTR region. These data illustrate the importance of nef or the U3 region of the LTR in determining the pathogenicity of HIV-1. These non-pathogenic strains should prove useful, inter alia, in the development of HIV-1-specific diagnostic reagents.
Abstract:
In a high efficiency amplitude modulation circuit. A pulse width modulation switch is arranged with a low pass filter to attentuate switching frequencies of the switch. A diode is connected in parallel with the input terminals of the low pass filter which diode provides a current discharge path for the filter while the switch is non-conductive. A further filter is also connected in parallel with the input terminals of the low pass filter, this further filter being arranged to provide cancellation of the input susceptance of the low pass filter over at least part of its pass band. The two filters in combination are such as to present a constant input conductance over at least part of the pass band of the low pass filter.
