    摘要: The present invention performs correction appropriately according to errors in the fuel system and air system respectively and corrects both variations in the air-fuel ratio and torque. When the difference between a target air-fuel ratio and a real air-fuel ratio is equal to or below a predetermined value when feedback control based on the air-fuel ratio of an exhaust manifold 10A is in progress, the air-fuel ratio of a cylinder cyl—1 having the largest variation of angular acceleration is corrected to the rich side, for example, by increasing the amount of fuel. Angular acceleration per cylinder is then detected again and when the variation in angular acceleration among cylinders is not eliminated, it is judged that there is an error in the amount of air control of the cylinder having the largest variation and the amount of air, amount of fuel, ignition timing or the like are corrected.

    摘要: A knock detection device being provided with a plurality of digital filter units, each is designed to cover respective characteristic resonance vibration frequency components inherent to resonance vibration modes due to knocking and including first, second and third digital filters, the first digital filter being tuned to the center frequency of the characteristic resonance vibration frequency component, the second digital filter being tuned to a neighboring lower frequency and the third digital filter being tuned to a neighboring higher frequency. The maximum intensity among the three intensities determined by the first, second and third digital filters is determined as the intensity for the characteristic resonance vibration frequency component and the determined result is fed-back to the digital filter unit to correct the center frequency of the first digital filter to the frequency showing the maximum intensity, whereby the knocking is reliably detected without being affected by such factors as engine operating conditions and secular changes of the engine.

    摘要: An engine exhaust gas cleaning method and system, which can effectively reduce emission amounts of particular components, such as NOx, contained in exhaust gas by adding an additive, such as urea water or light oil, into an exhaust passage, which is adaptable for a reduction of the cleaning rate caused by deterioration of a catalyst, which can always maintain a high cleaning rate during acceleration and deceleration as well, and which can minimize environmental pollution with use of the additive in the least necessary amount. The engine exhaust gas cleaning system comprises a catalyst for removing a particular component, represented by NOx, contained in exhaust gas of an engine, an additive adding unit for adding, to the exhaust gas, an additive for reducing the particular component represented by NOx, and an EGR amount adjusting unit for adjusting an EGR amount. An addition amount of the additive and the EGR amount are set depending on an operating state and deterioration of the catalyst with time. The catalyst is regenerated when a cleaning capability of the catalyst has reduced to a predetermined value or below.

    摘要: A method and apparatus of detecting knocking in an internal combustion engine having a crankshaft uses a knock detecting sensor to detect vibration caused by knocking. The signals from the knock detecting sensor are detected between a first and a second moment of time (i.e. a measurement window) and at least one of the first and second moments of time are independently varied in dependence upon a vibration spectrum of frequencies to be detected. In a preferred embodiment a plurality of frequency spectra, each having a different first and second moment of time, are each separately analyzed for determining knock intensity. The moments of time are represented by first and second angles of the crankshaft. A plurality of measurement windows are advantageously used to determine the level of knocking and if the level exceeds a predetermined level the ignition timing for the engine is retarded. The frequency of maximum amplitude is arranged in operation to be the center frequency of a frequency spectrum determined by the measurement window.

    摘要: Atomization and vaporization of spray in a fuel supply system is promoted at the time of cold startup and the amount of fuel depositing on the inner wall of the intake manifold is reduced, thereby ensuring improved startability of an internal combustion engine of a car, reduced fuel costs and improved purification of exhaust gas. A very fine groove is formed on a heat transfer surface in a fuel vaporization promoting apparatus, wherein this groove is shaped in such a way that fuel is dispersed by the surface tension of the heat transfer surface and the fuel. This configuration ensures uniform dispersion of fuel on the heat transfer surface and effective promotion of vaporization.
