Abstract:
A strokable liner hanger including a liner hanger having one of a polished outside surface and a seal disposed at an outside surface thereof, and a production casing having one of a polished inside surface and a seal. The production casing being complementary to the liner hanger. A strokable liner hanger arrangement in a wellbore including a production casing having one of a polished bore and a seal and a liner hanger in operable communication with the production casing. The liner hanger having one of a polished bore and a seal and being the opposite of the production casing. A method for completing a wellbore with a strokable liner hanger arrangement.
Abstract:
A well control valve assembly having a downhole portion with a primary valve, and electromechanical actuator connected to the valve and a first wireless communicator connected to the actuator. The assembly further includes an uphole portion having a pump, a second wireless communicator complementary to the first wireless communicator and being supported in the uphole portion of the valve assembly. The downhole portion and uphole portion are physically non-connected and informationally connected.
Abstract:
Downhole tools and systems can be actuated chemically by placing a chemical sensor downhole and introducing a chemical slug into fluids being pumped downhole. When the slug reaches the sensor a reaction in the sensor may be employed to trigger an event (e.g., actuation) or may cause a count to increase by one on its way to a full count and actuation of a tool or system downhole.
Abstract:
A plurality of electronically controlled downhole tools and systems for use in production wells is presented. These tools and systems include safety valve and pressure monitoring systems, remotely controlled inflation/deflation devices, remotely actuated downhole tool stop systems, remotely controlled fluid/gas control systems, remotely controlled variable choke and shut-off valve systems and a retrievable sensor side pocket mandrel.

Abstract:
An electromechanical rotary pipe mill or hone including a body, a motor with a mill or hone disposed thereon in radially adjustable position with respect to the body, a clamping device extendable from the body and configured for anchoring the tool in a tubular, and a portion of the body that is rotatable about an axis of the electromechanical pipe mill or hone. A method for removing material in a tubular including running on electric wireline an electromechanical rotary pipe mill or hone as in any prior embodiment to a target location in a tubular, registering the mill or hone with a feature identified for removal of material, deploying the clamping device, rotating the mill or hone on its own axis, rotating a portion of the body about its own axis, and radially displacing the mill or hone to remove material.
Abstract:
A spiral body lock including a mandrel; a sleeve; and at least one of the mandrel and sleeve including a male component, the other of the mandrel and the sleeve including a recess receptive to the male component at least one of the recess and the male component being helically configured and method.
Abstract:
A nanoparticle composition includes a metal nanoparticle, and a continuous dielectric coating on a surface of the metal nanoparticle, the nanoparticle composition being a dielectric material. A nanoparticle is in addition the reaction product of an organometallic compound. An electrorheological fluid comprises the nanoparticle composition and a dielectric fluid, and a method of making an electrorheological fluid is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A completion system including a barrier valve operatively arranged in a tubing string to selectively impede fluid flow through a lower completion. At least one control line is included for supplying a control line pressure for controlling operation of the barrier valve. The at least one control line is operatively arranged with the tubing string for enabling tubing pressure in the tubing string to determine the control line pressure. A method of operating a barrier valve is also included.
Abstract:
An electrorheological fluid comprises a nanoparticle composition comprising a nanoparticle, uncoated or coated with a polymeric or metallic coating and covalently bonded to or coated on a surface of a polymeric or inorganic particle; and a dielectric fluid having a dielectric constant lower than that of the nanoparticle composition. A nanoparticle composition also comprises a carbon-based nanoparticle, covalently bonded to or coated on a surface of a conjugated polymer particle or inorganic particle, wherein the nanoparticle composition is a dielectric material.
