Abstract:
In an apparatus for manufacturing a taper leaf spring, by which after performing rolling on the edges of a sheet spring material in the direction of its breadth, rolling for tapering the sheet in the direction of its thickness is carried out, an edge roll assembly is employed for the sake of rolling in the breadth direction. In the edge roll assembly, constraining flanges for regulating the sheet thickness are provided on both ends of the main body of the edge roll so that expansion of both sides of a sheet spring material in the sheet thickness direction due to the effect of rolling in the sheet breadth direction is suppressed by the flanges and the thickness of a sheet spring material is kept uniform as a whole prior to performing rolling in the sheet thickness direction.
Abstract:
A process of manufacturing a taper leaf spring by which rollers for measuring the length and the thickness are respectively disposed on the take-out side of a material plate for a taper leaf spring relative to a pair of rolling rollers, and also rollers for measuring the breadth are disposed on the same take-out side; rolling for regulating the breadth is beforehand performed by a pair of edge rollers on the take-in side of the material plate relative to the pair of rolling rollers; the distance of the interval between both rolling rollers is adjusted by comparing signals coming from the rollers for measuring the length and the thickness with the standard signals based on the predetermined specifications of the length and the thickness; the regulation of the breadth by means of the pair of edge rollers is controlled by comparing the signal from the breadth measuring rollers with the standard signal based on the predetermined specification; so that the material plate is rolled to a taper as desired.
Abstract:
A belt driving apparatus is disclosed, that uses feedback signals for executing feedback control of a motor that drives the rotation of a belt. The belt driving apparatus includes a first sensor for detecting an index of a scale formed along a peripheral direction of the belt, a second sensor for detecting a detection target cooperatively moving with the rotation of the belt, and a sensor switching part for selectively switching the feedback signals used for executing the feedback control of the motor. The feedback signals include first signals output from the first sensor and second signals output from the second sensor. The sensor switching part selects the first or second signals accordingly.
Abstract:
An optical encoder includes a light emitting unit that emits parallel light onto a plurality of marks that are arranged on an object such as a rotor or a belt, at a predetermined interval in a moving direction of the object, and a light receiving unit that receives light modulated by the marks. The parallel light is generated by a collimating lens.

The sensor switching part selects the second signals as the feedback signals to be used during a period beginning at the activation of the motor and ending when a predetermined condition is satisfied. The sensor switching part selects the first signals as the feedback signals to be used after the predetermined condition is satisfied.
Abstract:
A slit structure of an encoder for preventing the position precision at high speed operation from deteriorating. An encoder for measuring the rotational speed and rotational position of a rotary slit disc (1) by a light receiving device (4) for receiving light emitted from a light emitting device (2) and transmitted/reflected through/from a code pattern provided in/on the rotary slit disc (1), comprises a fixed slit (3) provided between the rotary slit disc (1) and the light receiving device (4) and having light receiving windows through which the light transmitted/reflected through/from the code pattern passes and which are so arranged at positions different in a radial direction of the rotary slit disc (1) as to have mutually different phases, wherein the lengths of the light receiving windows in the radial direction of the rotary slit disc (1) are greater from the inner peripheral side toward the outer peripheral side so that the opening area of the light receiving window on the inner peripheral side may be equal to that on the outer peripheral side.
Abstract:
A process for the production of a highly chemically stable hydrophilic ODS packing material made of silica gel for liquid chromatography that causes hardly any peak tailing. ODS groups are chemically bonded to a silica gel having a specific surface area of 200 to 300 m2/g, which is then subjected once or twice to end capping including high temperature end capping so as to efficiently remove or deactivate active silanol groups.

Abstract:
An image forming apparatus has an image scanner, a sensor for determining that the image sensor has scanned the front edge of a document, and a controller using main scanning line synchronizing signals and an output signal of the sensor as reference signals. In response to the reference signals, the controller causes at least a writing unit to start writing each image data of particular color and causes a transfer medium driving circuit to start driving a transfer medium. The apparatus allows image components of different colors to be transferred to the transfer medium one above the other in accurate registration.
Abstract:
In a color image forming apparatus, an electrostatic latent image based on image data is formed onto a photosensitive body. A toner image of the electrostatic latent image is transferred to an intermediate transfer belt. Final toner images are transferred to a transfer material together. Plural original images are synthesized and written onto the intermediate transfer belt by an image processing unit and a writing unit. A process of this image synthesis is displayed in a display of a display editor. The image processing unit and a main control panel write the synthesized images in accordance with a synthetic condition. The toner images finally formed on the intermediate transfer belt are transferred to the transfer material together. Accordingly, the images can be synthesized accurately and the color image forming apparatus can be simply constructed and can be cheaply manufactured. Color image forming methods are also shown.
