    摘要: An improvement for attaching fastener strips to other objects wherein a strip of fastener material is formed into the surface of urethane foam or the like during molding in a mold. The fastener material comprises a backing strip having an outer surface adapted to mate with the foam material during molding and a fastener strip having an outer surface comprising one-half of a fastening system such as hook and loop fastening material. The backing strip and the fastener strip are attached to one another with their respective inner surfaces in face-to-face relationship with their outer surfaces facing outward. The fastener material fits within a longitudinal groove in the mold and the backing material overlaps the groove. The invention comprises an improved apparatus including a backing strip that is wider than the fastener strip and provides exposed strips on both sides of the fastener strip. A pair of strips of polyethylene film is attached to the exposed strips only along lines adjacent the edges of the fastener strip and forms two unattached gasket strips for contacting the mold and preventing entry of the foam-forming liquid into the groove.

    摘要: Method for producing an SMC multi-layer component in a production process. The component has a sandwich structure. At least one foam material layer (3) is embedded between two SMC cover layers (2, 2′). An insert layer arrangement comprising at least one first and one second SMC semifinished product cover layer (2, 2′) is positioned in a press mold comprising a punch (1) and a die (1′). A first and a second SMC semifinished product cover layers (2, 2′) are shaped into two SMC cover layers (2, 2′) by applying pressure to the layer arrangement. Curing of the first and the second SMC semifinished product cover layers (2, 2′) is initiated. The punch (1) and the die (1′) are moved away from each other, until the distance provided therebetween corresponds to a thickness of the SMC multi-layer component to be produced. A foaming process of a material (3′) that can be foamed, which is provided between the two SMC cover layers (2, 2′) is initiated, producing the foam material layer (3). After the foaming has ended, the SMC multi-layer component is removed from the press mold.

At least one adhesive closure with adhesive elements is housed in a recess of a foaming mold used for producing the shaped foam body and is covered with a covering element inhibiting foaming. The covering element is placed on the side opposite to the adhesive elements to extend from the recess over a predetermined width, and is maintained by a holding device, while being removably held against the parts of the foaming mold which surround the recess.

    摘要: Various embodiments of a mold assembly system include a mold defining at least one trench along a surface of the mold and two or more hook fastener elements disposed on the surface of the trench in an end-to-end relationship. Each hook fastener elements includes: (1) an elongated base, (2) a plurality of hooks extending upwardly from an upper surface of the base, and (3) a magnetic material disposed within the base. The hook fastener elements are unattached to each other and are separately disposed within the trench, and the magnetic portion of the trench is configured to attract the hook fastener elements toward the magnetic portion and hold the hook fastener elements adjacent thereto in an end-to-end relationship substantially along the length of the trench. In one embodiment, the hook fastener elements are substantially the same length and are usable in straight trenches, curved trenches, or trenches having various lengths.
