    Abstract: An electropneumatic trailer control-valve unit for a vehicle, including a storage port for coupling a store of compressed air for a trailer, a brake-pressure port, a brake-pressure pilot-control unit configured to output at least one first control pressure, a brake-pressure main-valve unit configured to receive the at least one first control pressure and to output a brake pressure at a brake-pressure port, a trailer operating-pressure port configured to receive a trailer operating pressure, and a pneumatically switched trailer protection valve with a protection-valve control port which is connected to the trailer operating-pressure port for receiving the trailer operating pressure, wherein the trailer protection valve switches from a first switching position into a second switching position if the trailer operating pressure exceeds a predetermined first threshold value, and wherein the trailer operating pressure is a supply control pressure.

    Abstract: An apparatus configured to perform electrical braking with a fail-safe function includes a main brake pedal sensor configured to generate a first output signal, a main brake controller configured to brake a vehicle by controlling a brake according to a first braking signal based on the first output signal, a redundancy brake pedal sensor configured to generate a second output signal proportional to the stroke of the brake pedal, the second output signal having a magnitude within a preset error range from the first output signal, and a redundancy brake controller configured to brake the vehicle by controlling the brake according to the second braking signal based on the second output signal, in which the redundancy brake controller may be configured to brake the vehicle when the main brake controller fails, and the main brake controller may be configured to brake the vehicle when the redundancy brake controller fails.

    Abstract: A method of operating a brake redundancy device including a main braking controller and a backup braking controller, includes: confirming whether or not a command signal for deceleration of the vehicle has been received, by the backup braking controller; executing a front-wheel braking mode by the backup braking controller when the command signal has been received; determining whether or not an allowable condition for providing the hydraulic pressure to wheel cylinders of rear wheels has been satisfied; and executing a rear-wheel braking mode through a cooperative control of the main braking controller and the backup braking controller when the allowable condition has been satisfied, wherein in the executing of the rear-wheel braking mode, the hydraulic pressure is provided from the backup braking controller to a portion of the main braking controller.
