Abstract:
A push-pull steel cable (10) comprises a core (12) and an outer layer of filaments (16) twisted around the core (12). The cable (10) is provided with an external coating (20) of polyethylene terephthalate. The coating (20) gives to the cable (10) a good resistance against corrosion, a good weatherability, a good adhesion and adhesion retention and a friction resistance which is comparable to the friction resistance of a cable with a nylon coating. The cable (10) can be used as a brake cable, a shifting lever cable or a window elevator cable.
Abstract:
A wire rope including a core surrounded with a plurality of wound strands. The rope is encapsulated with a thermoplastic after the application of a lubricant blend including amorphous polypropylene.
Abstract:
In an elevator rope, an inner layer rope has: an inner layer rope fiber core; a plurality of inner layer strands; and a resin inner layer rope coating body that is coated onto an outer circumference. Inner layer strands are twisted together on an outer circumference of the inner layer rope fiber core. The inner layer strands have: an inner layer strand fiber core that is disposed centrally; and a plurality of steel inner layer strand wires that are twisted together on an outer circumference of the inner layer strand fiber core. In addition, a plurality of steel outer layer strands are twisted together on an outer circumference of the inner layer rope.

Abstract:
The present invention is to provide a hybrid core rope which does not require maintenance or a hybrid core rope capable of reducing a maintenance task. The hybrid core rope includes a resin solid core in which a plurality of spiral grooves is formed in the longitudinal direction on an outer peripheral surface thereof, a plurality of fiber bundles respectively spirally wound around the outer peripheral surface of the resin solid core along the plurality of spiral grooves, the fiber bundles having thickness to fill the spiral grooves, and a plurality of steel strands spirally wound around the outer peripheral surface of the resin solid core around which the fiber bundles are wound. The fiber bundles and the strands are respectively wound so as to have angles which are not parallel to each other.
Abstract:
A wire rope has an independent wire rope core including lubricated individual core wires that are encapsulated in a tubular sheath of elastomeric or polymeric material surrounding the core wires and retaining the lubricant. A plurality of strands are located radially outwardly from and adjacent to the core. Each of the strands include strand wires that are lubricated. The strand wires are encapsulated in a tubular sheath of elastomeric or polymeric material that retain the lubrication for the strand wires. The core and strand encapsulating materials prevent direct metal-to-metal contact between core wires and strand wires, and between strand wires of adjacent strands. The core and strand encapsulating materials are applied in a manner so as to avoid loss of lubricant. Retaining lubrication and preventing direct metal-to-metal contact significantly improves the useful life of the wire rope.
Abstract:
A synthetic rope for an elevator having improved resistance to compression and abrasion is provided and comprises a plurality of strands forming layers of the rope, each strand formed from a plurality of pre-twisted strands made from high modulus synthetic filaments. One or more of the strands or layers of strands may be impregnated with a lubricant, such as polytetrafluoroethylene, to reduce the abrasion among the strands and substrands, and increase the service life of the rope. The exterior of the rope may be covered by a jacket that provides for traction with the drive sheave. An elevator system comprising the claimed rope is also provided.
Abstract:
The strand comprises a group of twisted metal wires, a plastic sheath and a pliant filling compound which fills internal interstices between the twisted wires of the group and a peripheral interstice lying between the periphery of the group and the inner face of the sheath. This peripheral interstice has, in a cross section of the strand, an area of between Pnullemin and 0.6nullS2, where P is the external perimeter of the group of wires, eminnull0.05 mm and S2 is the cumulative area of the gaps lying between the periphery of the group and the smallest circle within which the group is inscribed.
Abstract:
A method for making a wire rope comprising a core; a plastic jacket placed over the core; a plurality of outer strands laid on the circumference of the jacket core; and a plurality of substantially round wormings. The method comprises the steps of: i) extruding the plastic jacket over the core; ii) simultaneously laying on the circumference of the jacketed core a plurality of loose and substantially round wormings, and a plurality of outer stands, whereby the wormings are compressed by the outer strands to substantially fill the voids comprised between two adjacent outer strands and the core.
Abstract:
Reinforced thermoplastic impregnated lubricated wire ropes are provided in the present invention. A method of reinforcing and filling the thermoplastic material with fibers, mineral fillers and powders is also provided.
