    摘要: Composite reinforcements (100, 100A, 100B, 100C) are formed by combining a first plurality of continuous fibers (102) with a second plurality of continuous fibers (106) with the first and second pluralities of continuous fibers (102, 106) being impregnated with at least one appropriate resin material (R1, R2, R3) and pultruded to form the reinforcements. The first and second pluralities of continuous fibers (102, 106) can be intermixed with one another or combined as a central core (104, 132) of the first fibers with a jacket (108, 108A, 108B, 134) formed by the second fibers. In either event, the combined fibers are formed as an elongated rod (110) and rigidified using the resin material. The first fibers are glass, either E-glass or S-2 glass, with the second fibers being either carbon, aramid, S-2 glass or AR-glass. The composite reinforcements of the present application, formed by combining these materials, have characteristics very similar to steel under tensile loading but with superior corrosion resistance and less detrimental deterioration characteristics.

    摘要: This application relates to cable assemblies with an outer (exterior) layer formed from braiding materials together. To achieve a desired pattern, a machine tool forming the outer layer undergoes several modifications. For a machine tool with two tracks (e.g., inner and outer track) with multiple carriers of material to be braided, each carrier position may include multiple bobbins, with each bobbin carrying a spool/coil of the material. During a braiding operation performed by the machine tool, each track rotates in opposite directions. Moreover, some bobbins include an arm that guides the material in a particular manner. For example, during rotation of the track, the arm provides a swinging motion, causing the material carried by the arm to move in a periodic (e.g., sinusoidal) motion. An additional track may be used to guide the arms.

A metallic external tube 2, a plurality of internal steel tubes 3, 3A, 3B arranged inside the external tube 2 are arranged by positioning the plurality of internal steel tubes 3, 3A, 3B, and thus, the load bearing capacity is improved by the plurality of the internal steel tubes 3, 3A, 3B. Further, when a load is applied, the internal steel tubes deform in a flattened form to thereby enable the external tube to deform as well. As a result, no stress concentrates locally on the external tube 2, thus improving an energy-absorbing effect. Further, a filler 4 is filled between an inside 21 of the external tube 2 and outsides of the internal steel tubes, thereby enabling the plurality of the internal steel tubes 3, 3A, 313 to be simply positioned.

The cable (10) can be used as a brake cable, a shifting lever cable or a window elevator cable.
