    摘要: Olefins are dimerized in a loop reactor with flashing of the reactor effluent in a flashing zone within the loop. A subsequent flash in a second flashing zone can also be used for the removal of product as flash vapor. In another embodiment, separated product dimers or product heavies are used as absorbents for unreacted ethylene. The use of a vapor-liquid contacting device incorporated in the loop reactor is especially helpful in the dimerization of an olefin when the olefin is available in low-concentration gas streams. A thermosiphon loop reactor can also be used for low-concentration olefin streams to minimize the power requirements as the energy of the feed gas is used to induce the reactor circulation.

    摘要: Tantalum catalysts or catalyst precursors of the formula ##STR1## wherein X is a halide, or alkoxide and L is an alkene (CH.sub.2 .dbd.CHR) having from 2 to 20 carbon atoms, react with 1-olefins to give catalysts of the formula ##STR2## wherein R.sup.2 is hydrogen or a C.sub.1 to C.sub.18 alkyl such as methyl, ethyl, or propyl. The catalysts or catalyst precursors selectively dimerize 1-olefins to the two possible disubstituted .alpha.-olefin dimers, the ratio of which depends on the nature of R.

    摘要: This invention comprises novel organic-solvent-soluble nickel bis-diorgano-orthophosphates and their preparation by the reaction of certain simple salts or esters of divalent nickel with certain non-aromatic triorgano orthophosphates free of aliphatic unsaturation and separation of the novel compounds. The simple salts or esters include preferably the halides, nitrates and acetates of divalent nickel.This invention further comprises the use of these novel compounds, preferably in solution, as catalysts. When used in conjunction with alkyl aluminum halides, controlled oligomerization of ethylene, propylene and other olefins is achieved with the formation of polymers with low degrees of polymerization, e.g. 2 to 10, preferably no more than about 6 mers. When certain vanadium catalysts are added to these combined catalysts, high polymers of such monomers are achieved with significant residual aliphatic unsaturation.

    摘要: Solid pi -allyl complex catalysts comprising: A. A palladium source; B. A monotertiary phosphine electron donor ligand; C. A combination of a reducing agent capable of reducing the palladium source to an oxidation state of less than 2 and a Lewis acid capable of forming a coordination bond with palladium; and D. An acidic, solid, silica-based support material, are useful in the codimerization of a conjugated diene and a monoene. Preferably, the catalyst is activated by the additional presence of a conjugated diene. In a preferred embodiment, the solid pi -allyl palladium complex catalyst prepared from palladium acetylacetonate, triphenylphosphine, diethylaluminum chloride and a calcined silica-alumina support having a separate, distinct alumina phase is useful in the selective codimerization of 1,3-butadiene and ethylene to form trans-1,4hexadiene.
