摘要: An improvement in reactors for plasma-chemical processes is provided, where the arc-chamber includes electrodes for the transmission of an arc therethrough, and a supply of a plasma gas is forced through the arc, which includes injection means for supplying the reactants to a reactor, and into the plasma gas stream. The reactor may be a single reactor or a series of reactors, and may also include a cooling chamber or series of cooling chambers, downstream therefrom, the cooling chambers also including injection means for supplying coolant to the stream of plasma gas, now including reactor products. In a preferred embodiment, a series of nozzles within both the reaction chamber and cooling chamber, injects both the reactants and coolant, respectively, into these chambers tangentially to the plasma gas streams. Where a series of reactors and cooling chambers are utilized, the tangential flow in each successive reactor alternates in a clockwise and counter-clockwise direction, to achieve maximum mixing.

摘要: A reactor shell for producing olefins via steam cracking from a fed reactive mixture stream composed of steam and hydrocarbons comprising: at least one reactive stream duct formed within said reactor shell, at least one structured ceramic bed having a plurality of hollow flow paths, at least one electrical resistance heating element for heating the reactive mixture stream up to a predetermined reaction temperature and a coating provided on a surface contacting with the reactive mixture stream is provided. The reactor shell is characterized by that said electrical resistance heating element that is arranged inside at least some of said hollow flow paths in a manner that there still remains a flowing passage inside the hollow flow paths.

摘要: A process can be used for performing a pyrolysis of hydrocarbons in a rotary drum reactor at a temperature in the range of from 600 to 1800° C. The heat for the endothermic pyrolysis is provided by resistive heating of at least one particulate electrically conductive material introduced into said rotary drum reactor and moved through the rotary drum reactor with a flow of a hydrocarbon. The rotary drum reactor contains (A) an inner wall made of electrically insulated material, (B) a pressure-bearing outer wall, and (C) an electrical heating system attached to the inner wall and/or at least one integrated electrically conducting electrode pair. The at least one electrode pair is located at both ends of the inner wall of the rotary drum.

摘要: Olefins are made by passing a cracker stream through a convection section of a cracker furnace; introducing steam and a stream comprising a recycle content pyrolysis oil into the cracker stream to form a combined stream, and the steam, r-pyoil stream, or both are introduced downstream of the inlet to the convection section, such as between the inlet to the coils and the radiant zone, or at the cross-over. Additionally, dilution steam can be added to a stream of r-pyrolysis to form a steam-diluted r-pyoil stream which is then introduced into a cracker furnace at any location, such as downstream of the inlets to the convection box or at a cross-over.

摘要: A paraffin control unit with staged high voltage temperature controlled electric immersion heaters to maintain the paraffin component of the crude oil in the liquid phase. The paraffin control unit removes large volumes of naturally occurring fine sand from the incoming liquids while also removing the crude oil from the influent fluid stream, the natural gas from the influent fluid stream, salt water from the influent fluid stream, all while maintaining the temperature of the crude oil fraction above the cloud point of its paraffin constituent. The removed sand is collected in sand pans and is automatically removed at timed intervals. The automation assures that the accumulating sand is removed from the sand pans as rapidly as it accumulates, thus preventing an over-accumulation of sand. The process fluids flow through a coalescer and a baffle assembly which purify and separate the component phases suitable for custody transfer.
