Abstract: A single ply polyester fabric of straight warp construction having at least 200 ends per inch of 1000 denier multifilament yarn in the warp direction and at least 18 picks per inch of 0.4 mm, monofilament yarn in the weft direction with a warp crimp of less than 2%. Preferably, the polyester fabric is impregnated with a nitrile and polyvinylchloride latex and has a polyurethane coating on one surface thereof. The single ply polyester fabric is particularly suitable for use as a belt in an automatic truck loading and unloading system.

Abstract: A conveyor belt composed of a plurality of interconnected modules, each of identical construction and end to end mateable. Each module includes a multiplicity of elongated parallel spaced link elements terminating in first and second link ends. An intermediate section between the link ends is of grid-like structure providing a box beam across the width of the module for structural strength. This intermediate section also includes angled surfaces which define sprocket recesses located midway between the pivot axes and which are adapted to mate with corresponding sprocket teeth of an associated sprocket wheel. These intermediate sprocket recesses provide the benefit of minimizing chordal action and scrubbing between the mating surfaces of the module and sprocket.

Abstract: A selectively operable, continuous-loop conveyor provides support and transporation of containers containing spices or the like to and from a transfer station in which the containers are inserted in or removed from carriers which support them along the conveyor. The carriers include guide members which maintain the relative orientation between the carriers and the track. A drive hub with fingers extending into the track forces carriers disposed in that region adjacent to the fingers along a portion of the track, and thereby forcing other carriers in the track around the track. Further, a bar extending across the face of the rack has two ends, each of which may be pushed to drive the carriers in a corresponding different direction. Each carrier is in the form of a downwardly facing cup with spaced inwardly extending, biased members which engage the edges of a container inserted in the cup. Any of the containers supported in the apparatus may thus be brought to the transfer station in the front of the apparatus to provide access by the user.

Abstract: The holding device for containers includes a receptacle member having a capacity which will accommodate a predetermined size range of containers. A selected container is held in the receptacle member by biasing members that are detachably secured to the receptacle member. The biasing members include a flap portion that resiliently bears against the container to detent the container in the receptacle. If a different container is not compatible with the biasing members, a second set of compatible biasing members can be interchanged with the first set. Since the biasing members are detachably secured to the receptacle member, the receptacle member can be formed of a plastic having one Durometer level and the biasing members can be formed of a plastic material having another Durometer level. Each Durometer level is selected to fulfill the optimum desired characteristics of the receptacle and biasing members. The holding device is thus capable of accommodating containers with relatively wide dimensional variations.

Abstract: A chain belt formed of a plurality of pivotally connected preassembled parallel links. Each link includes a driving tooth protruding from one surface of the link midway between the pivotal axes of the link. Abstract: A material transfer apparatus for transferring articles between different vertical levels. The apparatus includes a pair of endless members, such as chains, mounted for travel in parallel generally rectangular paths, each including an upward vertical run, an upper horizontal run, a downward vertical run and a lower horizontal run. At least one carrier is mounted on the chains for free rotation about a horizontal axis and the carrier has a article supporting surface extending horizontally in cantilevered relation from the axis. Articles to be transferred are fed into the path of travel of the carrier by a first conveyer as the carrier moves in the upward vertical run and are elevated from the first conveyer and subsequently lowered by the carrier onto a second discharge conveyer for discharge as the carrier travels in the downward vertical run. Guide members on the carrier engage fixed guide tracks on the supporting structure to maintain the supporting surface in a horizontal attitude as the carrier moves in its path of travel.

Abstract: An accurately tracking belt with a large amount of open area is disclosed. The belt is made of integrally molded plastic modules connected end-to-end and may be connected side-by-side preferably in a bricklayed fashion to form a conveyor belt. Each of the modules includes a plurality of links spaced apart by a selected distance.
