Abstract:
Methods, devices, and computer program products for optimization of message transmission intervals in a NAN are described herein. In one aspect, a method for discovering a cluster of STA's forming a NAN is provided. The method includes generating a NAN beacon at an access point (AP). The NAN beacon includes timing information for the NAN. The timing information indicates a first time interval when one or more messages can be transmitted within the NAN. The method further includes transmitting the NAN beacon.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for communicating short control frames are described herein. In some aspects, a method of wireless communication includes generating a control frame comprising a contention free end (CF-end) frame, the CF-end frame comprising a physical layer preamble having a type field, the type field including an indicator indicating the CF-end frame is a null data packet (NDP). The method further includes transmitting the control frame.
Abstract:
A method includes generating a paging message at a first device of a data link group of a neighbor aware network (NAN). The paging message includes a paged device list. The paged device list identifies a subset of devices of the data link group, the subset of devices scheduled to receive data from the first device during a transmission window. The paging message includes a receiver address field having a particular receiver address value. The method also includes transmitting, during the paging window, the paging message from to at least one device of the data link group other than the first device.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication are provided. In an embodiment, a method of determining communication parameters for wireless communication includes receiving, at an access point, a probe request comprising a transmission power indication. The method further includes determining a received transmission power. The method further includes estimating a path-loss based on the transmission power indication and received transmission power. The method further includes transmitting a first probe response using a first set of communication parameters defining a first rate. The method further includes transmitting a second probe response using a second set of communication parameters defining a second rate when the access point does not receive an acknowledgement to the first probe response within a timeout period, the second rate being lower than the first rate.
Abstract:
A method of communication includes transmitting a message from a first electronic device of a neighbor aware network (NAN) to a second electronic device of the NAN via a first communication channel of a plurality of communication channels during a discovery window. The message indicates that the first electronic device is available to communicate. The method also includes monitoring a second communication channel of the plurality of communication channels during a first paging window of a transmission window. The first paging window includes a beginning portion of the transmission window, and electronic devices of the NAN are in an active state during the first paging window.
Abstract:
Systems and techniques are disclosed to manage coexistence of wireless technologies, including 5G unlicensed transmissions, with 802.11 transmissions in the unlicensed band. Aspects of the present disclosure include channel selection and 802.11 traffic monitoring and coordinated access. The systems and techniques include implementing a dynamic duty cycle on a selected channel of an unlicensed 802.11 band and dynamically varying the duty cycle based on traffic load on the selected channel. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for multi-hop service discovery within a mobile device cluster are disclosed. A seeker station may be seeking or may have found a desired service available from a provider station. The seeker station may receive the service announcement from the provider station, and become a proxy station, expanding the service area of the provider station. The proxy station may selectively transmit services and advertisements for services on behalf of the provider station based on restrictions placed on selection as a proxy station. Restrictions or conditions may be placed on the proxy station limiting the number of stations that may become proxy stations, limiting traffic within the cluster. Some restrictions may require a proxy station to be a member of the cluster or a member of a group within the cluster. Selection as a proxy station and frequency of transmission of service announcements by proxy stations may also be conditioned on various specific parameters or combinations of parameters as specified by the provider station.
Abstract:
A method includes transmitting, from an electronic device in a neighbor awareness network (NAN) via a first wireless protocol, a wake up message indicating discovery information associated with a second wireless protocol. The method further includes communicating information via the NAN using the second wireless protocol after transmitting the wake up message.
Abstract:
Techniques and apparatus for controlling the transmit power of an uplink (UL) signal from a user terminal in a wireless communications system in an effort to achieve some target characteristic, such as a target carrier-to-interference (C/I) ratio, at an access point (AP) are provided. In this manner, such a user terminal may help avoid or compensate for imbalances in received radio frequency (RF) power between UL signals received from multiple user terminals by the AP. For example, the transmit power at each user terminal may be controlled in an effort to achieve a target post-processing C/I ratio of 28 dB per spatial stream in an effort to reduce large power imbalances and optimize throughput per user terminal. The user terminal and the AP may compose part of a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) communication system utilizing spatial-division multiple access (SDMA) techniques.
Abstract:
Systems and methods share context information on a neighbor aware network. A method for communicating data in a wireless communications network is disclosed. The method includes receiving, by a device, a first message from a station, decoding the message to determine service information, the service information identifying a service provided by the station, generating a second message, wherein the second message is generated to indicate the service provided by the station and service information of the device, and transmitting, by the device, the second message to a remote station.
