Abstract:
Cylinder head made of cast iron has valve seats provided therein. The valve seats include an annular bore provided in the cast-iron material, a nickel-based intermediate layer which is provided thereon and a contact layer which is provided on said intermediate layer. The contact layer has an air-hardening tool steel, wherein said layers are provided in such a manner that an annularly acting compressive stress is present near the free surface of said contact layer. The invention further includes a method for the production thereof.
Abstract:
A reciprocating piston machine, in particular a swash ring compressor or swash plate compressor, with pistons which are received so as to be movable in a reciprocating manner in cylinder spaces of a cylinder block with a cylinder head made from a material of lower strength such as aluminum material and which are driven by a driving mechanism which is arranged in a driving mechanism housing part made from a material of higher strength such as steel material. The driving mechanism housing part made from the material of higher strength is fastened to the cylinder block which is made from a material of lower strength such as aluminum material.
Abstract:
A compressor having a sealed container; a cylinder in which a compression space is constituted; a suction port and a discharge port which communicate with the compression space in the cylinder; a support member which closes an opening of the cylinder; a rotary shaft which is rotatably supported by a main bearing as a bearing formed on the support member; a compression member whose one surface crossing an axial direction of the rotary shaft is inclined continuously between a top dead center and a bottom dead center; a vane which is disposed between the suction port and the discharge port to abut on one surface side of the compression member and which partitions the compression space in the cylinder into a low pressure chamber and a high pressure chamber. A pressure of the compression member on the other surface side of the compression member is set to a value which is lower than tat of a pressure in the sealed container.
Abstract:
An object is to provide a highly efficient compressor while improving a refrigerant leakage, enhancing a performance of a compressor, improving durability, and enhancing reliability. The compressor comprises: a compression element comprising a cylinder in which a compression space is constituted; a suction port and a discharge port which communicate with the compression space in the cylinder; a support member which closes an opening of the cylinder; a rotary shaft which is rotatably supported by a main bearing as a bearing formed on the support member; a compression member whose one surface crossing an axial direction of the rotary shaft is inclined continuously between a top dead center and a bottom dead center and which is disposed in the cylinder to be rotated by the rotary shaft and which compresses a fluid sucked from the suction port to discharge the fluid via the discharge port; a vane which is disposed between the suction port and the discharge port to abut on one surface of the compression member and which partitions the compression space in the cylinder into a low pressure chamber and a high pressure chamber; and a shaft seal which is disposed on an end portion of the bearing (main bearing) on a side opposite to the compression member and which abuts on the rotary shaft.
Abstract:
A piston assembly includes a cross-head piston and a cylindrical cross pin. The cross-head piston includes a piston head having a cylindrical wall, a lateral surface and an opposite inward surface. Two spaced-apart connection ears, each having a proximal end and an opposite distal end, extend outwardly from the inward surface. Each proximal end is affixed to the inward surface and each distal end defines a pin bore passing therethrough. A piston well is defined by the inward surface and the connection ears. The cylindrical cross pin is disposed coaxially with a central axis so as to be engaged with both pin bores. The cross pin defines a central cross pin oil passage passing transversely to the central axis. The cross pin is placed in relation to the piston head so that the second end of the cross pin oil passage is directed to the piston well.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a piston for a diesel engine comprising a combustion cavity. The piston crown and the cavity are plasma-sprayed with a coating. The aim of the invention is to produce the coating in a cost-effective manner. To achieve this, the layer thickness of the coating is uneven, being thicker in the border region of the cavity.
Abstract:
A piston (10) particularly suited for heavy duty diesel engine applications includes upper and lower crown sections (28, 30) joined by a friction weld (32) to define an annular ring belt (14) formed with ring groves (22) and having a lower end (20) and an internal piston cooling chamber (34). A pair of pin bosses (40) depend from the ring belt (14) and are formed as one piece with the lower crown section (30). A skirt (46) is also formed as one piece with the pin bosses (40) and has an upper end (48) that is spaced from the lower end (20) of the ring belt (14) to define a space (52) therebetween which effectively uncouples the skirt (46) from the ring belt (14).
Abstract:
A heavy duty diesel piston includes upper and lower portions joined across a friction weld and internally contoured to provide a dual gallery structure including an outer annular gallery and a central gallery joined by passages for communicating cooling oil therebetween. The dual-gallery structure allows oil to enter from the outer gallery, which is formed by the circumferential annular recess in the crown and crown bottom, into the central gallery to cool the piston and particularly the central crown region exposed to hot combustion gases. The friction weld provides high structural integrity and minimizes the number of manufacturing steps needed to attach the crown to the crown bottom.
Abstract:
In a piston-cylinder assembly with a shaftless piston, the aim is to improve the lateral guidance of the connecting rod, to reduce edge wear and the seizing tendency in the event of fault during the combustion process. Consequently, the piston has at least one supporting ring, form-fittingly on the bosses which guides in the cylinder the piston along with the piston head.
Abstract:
A one piece piston for an internal combustion engine has a piston skirt that is connected to a flange portion and a supporting portion of a piston body. The piston skirt provides support to the flange portion and a piston ring belt portion disposed about and connected to the piston body. The one piece piston has a closed piston cooling gallery defined by the piston body, the flange portion and piston ring belt portion.
