    Abstract: A carrier system that includes a nanocarrier and a peptide non-covalently associated with the nanocarrier. The peptide contains an adaptor peptide sequence fused to the N-terminus of a target peptide, the adaptor peptide sequence being designed to facilitate the association to the nanocarrier. Also disclosed is a method for improving the immunogenicity of a peptide antigen by fusing it to an adaptor peptide sequence to form an immunizing peptide and contacting the immunizing peptide with a compatible nanocarrier. Further, a method is provided for treating a condition by immunization with a target peptide that has been fused to an adaptor peptide sequence and thereby associated with a nanocarrier. The method induces an immune response against the target peptide for treating cancer, viral infection, bacterial infection, parasitic infection, autoimmunity, or undesired immune responses to a biologies treatment.

    Abstract: Provided is a chimeric hemagglutinin (HA) protein including an HA1 subunit and an HA2 subunit, in which the HA1 subunit is composed of a first domain derived from a parental HA1 subunit of a first subtype influenza virus and a second domain derived from a parental HA1 subunit of a second subtype influenza virus. The chimeric HA protein has improved thermal stability and can be used in a vaccine composition for preventing influenza virus infection. Also provided is a method of inducing an immune response against an influenza virus in a subject in need thereof that includes administering the chimeric HA protein to the subject, thereby conferring protection against the influenza virus infection on the subject.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to anti-coccidial phytogenic formulations. Specifically, anti-coccidial compositions and use thereof are disclosed. An anti-coccidial composition comprises (a) an effective amount of Artemisia indica extract; and (b) an effective amount of Bidens pilosa extract. The composition may further comprise a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle, excipient, or carrier, and/or an animal feed. The anti-coccidial compositions may be used in the manufacture of a medicament for killing coccidian oocysts, inhibiting oocyst sporulation, reducing sporozoite invasion, and lessening bloody stools, or for alleviating or treating coccidiosis, in a subject in need thereof. In another aspect, the invention relates to use of an anti-coccidial formulation comprising an effective amount of Artemisia indica extract, and a pharmaceutical acceptable vehicle in the manufacture of a medicament for killing coccidian oocysts and inhibiting coccidian oocyst sporulation, and sporozoite invasion.
