The function calls are translated to a native command set. The native command set is stored within a database. Data collected from the simulations are used to provide a performance model from which the performance of a graphics hardware executing commands for the application program can be determined.

    摘要: A method of mapping motion pictures experts group (MPEG) video information for improved efficiency is presented, wherein image information is stored in blocks of memory referred to as tiles. Tiles are mapped in memory so that adjacent tiles only correspond to different banks of memory. A method and system is provided for organizing and routing multiple memory requests from a plurality of clients to multiple memories. Requests from a plurality of clients, including a plurality of clients of the same type, such as multiple MPEG decoders, are directed to different memory controllers by a router. The memory controllers order the client requests by requests among similar client types. The memory controllers also order the client requests by different client types. The ordered requests are then delivered to memory. Returned data is sent back to the clients.

    摘要: A network for smart card applications using a smart card in combination with a smart card terminal. The network arrangement includes a communications network connected to at least one smart card terminal, and a central database server in operative communication with the network central office. The network central office is part of the public switched telephone network and transmits smart card data between the smart card terminal and central database server. The central database server includes many partitioned memory locations each containing information associated with a smart card application. The information contained in the partitioned memory locations is accessible by data pointers stored on the individual smart cards. In this manner, the amount of data stored on the smart cards using the system is reduced and all of the information relating to a smart card user is centralized in one location. The central database server includes means for distinguishing between public information and proprietary information stored in the partitioned memory locations.

The system clock circuit comprises a frequency combiner circuit that receives a first external clock signal having a frequency F1 and a second external clock signal having frequency F2, where F2 is an integer multiple of F1. The second external clock signal is phase-shifted by P degrees with respect to the first external clock signal. The frequency combiner circuit generates from the first and second external clock signals a first output clock signal having an operating frequency that is the sum of F1 and F2. The system clock circuit also comprises a clock selection circuit that selectively applies the first output clock signal to the integrated circuit.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for qualifying a telephone transmission line for XDSL communication services is disclosed. The system includes a modem, located at the customer premises to be connected. The modem analyzes actual signals to determine the electrical characteristics of the communication channel associated with the customer premises. The modem includes a transmitter, receiver and controller to generate test signals and receive responses. The modem then analyzes the data to generate an output value indicative of the electrical characteristics of the communication channel being tested. This output value is then displayed to a user or transmitted over the communication channel to a network. The system thereby eliminates the necessity of dispatching a technician to test the telephone line, and provides more accurate test results than those achievable at the network-side of the connection alone.

    摘要: A system and method is disclosed for providing a pre-fetch memory controller in a computer system that comprises a plurality of master agents. The memory controller comprises a bus interface, a memory interface and a plurality of pre-fetch queues. In one embodiment each pre-fetch queue is assigned to a master agent. In an alternate embodiment the pre-fetch queues are dynamically assigned to master agents. The bus interface services memory read requests, memory write requests, and pre-fetch requests. Data may be pre-fetched from main memory and stored in the pre-fetch queues. This reduces the latency for memory read requests and improves the efficiency of the memory interface with the main memory.

The device is placed in a scan-test mode, according to a built-in self-test of the device. A scan clock signal and scan pattern are provided to allow scan-tests to be run on the device. If the device passes the scan test, the device is placed in a real-time test mode. At-speed tests may then be run on the device to provide a robust test and identify portions of the device that may be faulty.
