摘要: An angiographic injector has an injector portion which includes a rotating turret for housing two angiographic syringes in readiness for injection. The injector further employs a driving mechanism for connecting with and controlling the movement of a syringe plunger once one of the syringes is in place for injection. Through the use of guide means on each syringe and corresponding alignment means on a pressure jacket, the syringe is alignably and securely mounted within the pressure jacket on the rotating turret. Each syringe plunger is releasably connected to the driving mechanism for an injection operation, and released from the driving mechanism when the injection operation has been completed, such that the driving mechanism can be withdrawn from the syringe relative to the plunger without drawing body fluid of a patient into the syringe. Various types of plunger release mechanisms for this purpose are disclosed.

摘要: An interface device is used to collect information relating to procedures. The interface device is enabled to communicate with a first device, a second device and an information system. The interface device may be configured to receive before, during and/or after performance of each procedure, a set of personal identification information from the first device, the second device and/or the information system, and automatically, during and/or after performance of each procedure, a first set of procedure information from the first device and a second set of procedure information from the second device. The set of patient identification information is matched automatically with the first and second sets of procedure information related thereto for each procedure performed. A database automatically stores, as a record therein, the set of patient identification information and the first and the second sets of procedure information related thereto for each of the procedures performed.

摘要: A bladder syringe for a fluid delivery system includes a cylindrical body, a cap-bladder assembly, a plunger element disposed in the cylindrical body, and a mounting assembly to secure the cap-bladder assembly to the cylindrical body. The cylindrical body has a distal end and a proximal end and defines a throughbore. The cap-bladder assembly is adapted for connection to the distal end of the cylindrical body, and includes a cap body and a bladder. The cap body defines an interior cavity and a distal discharge conduit and is adapted to engage the distal end of the cylindrical body. A disc-shaped bladder is disposed within the interior cavity and typically includes a central membrane portion. The plunger element is disposed in the throughbore of the cylindrical body and is vented to enable evacuation of the space between the plunger element and the cap-bladder assembly in the cylindrical body.

摘要: A detector system measures radioactive material. A fluid path receives at least one aliquot of radiopharmaceutical. The fluid path locates the aliquot within a positioner formed with a concave configuration. A detector is located at an axial distance from the concave surface and determines the level of radioactivity of the aliquot. Alternatively, the fluid path may be less concave and a variable attenuator may be placed between the fluid path and detector. The variable attenuator may have a concavity that is based on the concavity of the fluid path so that the detector's ability to read the radioactivity is optimized. A method for forming an aliquot of radiopharmaceutical in a concave fluid passage. Positioning a detector located a distance from the concave surface to optimize reading spectral energy of the aliquot and activity is determining activity regardless of the position of the aliquot in the passage.

摘要: An injection system includes an injector for injecting a fluid into a patient and a controller in operative communication with the injector for control thereof. The controller controls a diagnostic injection of the fluid based upon at least one mathematical model individualized to the patient. The model(s) are determined by collecting data corresponding to a time response curve resulting from at least one test injection of the fluid into the patient. The time response curve represents a response of a region of interest of the patient over time due to the fluid passing therethrough. An imaging system having such an injection system is also disclosed, as is a system for effecting a medical procedure. A method of delivering such a fluid to a patient using such an injection system is also disclosed, as is a method of modeling propagation of such a fluid in a patient.
