Abstract:
A table supporting device is provided at an upper end thereof with a loop. The loop is hung on the headrest of the motor vehicle seat so that the table supporting device is positioned substantially vertically. The loop 9 is removable from the headrest. A plate-shaped table has a table holding mechanism. The table holding mechanism holds the table vertically rotatably by means of a horizontal shaft. The table holding mechanism is provided with a vertical hole. The vertical hole has a larger diameter than the table supporting device. The table supporting device is passed through the vertical hole of the table holding mechanism. A vertical bolt is threadedly engaged with the table holding mechanism. A lower end of the vertical bolt is in contact with a base portion of the table so as to maintain the table at a desired angle.
Abstract:
An ornamental article such as a pearl necklace has a plurality of gem objects each having a spherical surface and a through hole extending substantially perpendicularly to the spherical surface, a string threaded through the gem objects to interconnect them, and a plurality of spacers of an elastomeric material interposed between adjacent ones of the gem objects and having through holes through which the string extends. Each of the spacers has a thicker central portion and a thinner outer circumferential edge. The spherical surface of each of the adjacent gem objects has a radius of curvature of r. The thicker central portion having a thickness of at most 0.4r, each spacer having a radius of at most 0.77r. With this arrangement, the gem objects can easily be threaded on the string. The string is prevented from being subjected to undue tension even when bent strongly, so that the string and the gem objects are projected against damage in use or sale.

Abstract:
An actuator that can be driven at a reduced voltage and manufactured with ease, and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The actuator includes second supporting portions 31 and 32 secured to a supporting substrate 4 through a spacer, fixed portions 33 and 34 secured to the supporting substrate 4 with no intervention of the spacer, fixed comb electrodes 331 and 341 integrally formed the fixed portions 33 and 34 and meshing with movable comb electrodes 211 and 212 in a spaced-apart relationship, and bridge portions 35 and 36 for connecting the fixed portions 33 and 34 to the second supporting portions 31 and 32. The fixed portions 33 and 34 are affixed to the supporting substrate 4 in a condition that they are deflected toward the supporting substrate 4 with respect to the second supporting portions 31 and 32 while bending the bridge portions 35 and 36, thereby initially deflecting the fixed comb electrodes 331 and 341 so as to be out of alignment with the movable comb electrodes 211 and 212 in a thickness direction of the supporting substrate 4.

An actuator includes a movable plate having a plate shape, a pair of axial parts that is elastically deformable and supporting the movable plate rotatable, and a tension adjuster adjusting tension on an axial direction of the pair of the axial parts and including a torsional axis that is formed jointly or integrally with one of the axial parts and disposed orthogonally to the axial direction of the axial parts, and a drive source that torsionally deforms the torsional axis, wherein the torsional axis is torsionally deformed through the action of the drive source and a spring constant of the pair of the axial parts is adjusted by adjusting the tension on the pair of the axial parts.
Abstract:
An actuator of the type employing a two-degree-of-freedom vibration system includes a first mass portion, a second mass portion, a pair of supporting portions, as least a pair of first elastic connecting portions which connects the first mass portion to the supporting portion so that the first mass portion can rotate with respect to the supporting portion, and at least a pair of second elastic connecting portions which connects the second mass portion to the first mass portion so that the second mass portion can rotate with respect to the first mass portion. The first mass portion is driven by the application of an alternating voltage, causing the second mass portion to rotate, and the frequency of the alternating voltage is set so as to be substantially the same as a lower resonance frequency of resonance frequencies of the two-degree-of-freedom vibration system at which the first mass portion and the second mass portion resonate. This makes it possible to provide the actuator capable of operating at high speed and at low voltage and achieving a large rotation angle.
