Abstract:
This invention discloses a novel class of polymeric diphenylamine compounds. The compounds are produced by reacting diphenylamine with a dialkylalkenylbenzene or dihydroxyalkylbenzene having either meta or para orientation in the presence of an acid catalyst.
Abstract:
Stable, substantially acid-free, one package moisture curable polyalkoxy-terminated organopolysiloxane compositions are provided having a condensation catalyst such as a tin compound. A method for making the aforesaid moisture curable organopolysiloxane compositions, is also provided.
Abstract:
An electron cyclotron maser high-frequency generator/amplifier having a cavity resonator positioned in an axial magnetic field. A spiralling beam of relativistic electrons is injected into the cavity and stimulated emission of radiation by the electrons takes place at the frequency of a wave mode supported by the cavity resonator. The transverse efficiency, defined as the average electron energy loss divided by its initial transverse energy, is maximized by disposing a shaped iron collar about the cavity resonator to provide an axial magnetic field in the cavity resonator whose amplitude increases in the beam direction-of-travel. In an alternative embodiment, the transverse efficiency is maximized by tapering the inner wall of the cavity in the axial direction to provide a wave-mode in the cavity resonator whose electric-field amplitude increases in the beam direction-of-travel.
Abstract:
The addition of a combination of CH.sub.3 SO.sub.2 CHI.sub.2 and certain chelating agents to cutting fluid prevents bacterial and fungal growth. Concentrated aqueous co-dispersions thereof are particularly useful.
Abstract:
A reciprocating preferably transparent break guard is disclosed for use in connection with a reciprocating machine, such as a bending machine. Adjustable switching means are operatively associated with the machine for controlling the actuation of a hydraulic piston connected to a frame for the guard. When the machine is in its upper position for receiving a workpiece, the switching means causes the piston to be actuated to maintain the guard in its upper position free from interference with the break. When the machine is actuated and starts its downward stroke, the switching means actuates a solenoid to release the piston causing the guard to drop smartly in front of the break thereby preventing the operator from accidentally inserting hands or fingers into the break of the machine. In its lowered position, the machine again actuates the switching means to operate the piston to raise the guard to its upper position. The position of the lower edge of the break guard is adjustable relative to a workpiece receiving surface on the machine to admit a workpiece into the break while excluding the hand or finger of the operator from the break.
Abstract:
A game apparatus is provided having a planar playing field and at least one player element. A horizontally rotatable disc member is provided for communication with the player element. There is a pivotable element defining a leg on the player element. Magnets are provided for the leg for activating the leg. Magnets below the disc are also provided for magnetic communication with the leg, this magnet being slidable under the disc to cause movement of the leg. The disc and the player are selectively rotatable. First and second control lines are provided for manipulation of the player in relation to the disc by a selectively activatable element, preferably a gun-like mechanism. A ball element is provided for movement on the playing field, the ball element containing a magnet. A cam arrangement is provided for arresting backward movement of the leg.
Abstract:
Benzimidazoles having 5-trifluoromethyl and 7-amino substituents are useful as herbicides. The 1-and 2-positions of the molecule also have at least one substituent; and, preferably both positions are substituted, such as with alkyl groups.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods for filling a prescription order with plurality of products each containing a pharmaceutical. The apparatus and method verifying a barcode on each of the products and printing and applying a patient label with a verified barcode to each of the products. After the patient label is applied, the barcodes are independently verified before the products are released.
Abstract:
The present invention involves a method and an apparatus for analyzing measured signals, including the determination of a measurement of oxygen saturation and respiration rate in the measured signals during a calculation of a physiological parameter of a monitored patient. Use of this invention is described in particular detail with respect to oximetry-based measurements but extends to other types of measurements.
