Abstract:
The present invention describes a uni-axial screw pump to convey viscous fluids with high pump efficiency wherein restraining devices restrain the fluid's tendency to rotate around the axis as the rotor rotates. As a result, all the fluid trapped between the helical thread and inner surface of inner cylindrical casing is forced in the axial direction towards the discharge end. It can also be employed as hydraulic turbine, thermo motor, liquid motor, extruder, molder and etc. The screw pump includes a thread disconnected perpendicularly to the axis to make a plurality of thread sections, a plurality of annular restraining devices being inserted in the annular gaps formed between disconnected thread sections. The annular restraining devices have restraining elements and openings for the fluid to be conveyed through, inner cylindrical sections being axially disposed between the inserted annular restraining devices to enclose the screw rotor.

A vertical cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) and a method of fabricating the same with easier alignment of a light output side aperture and an oxide aperture, The VCSEL includes: lower and upper reflection layers laminated with each other and forming a longitudinal resonance section there between; an active layer for producing a laser beam, an electrode formed in a ring shape on the upper reflection layer so the electrode has an aperture through which the laser beam is projected; a contact layer formed on the upper reflection layer; a ¼ wavelength layer formed on the contact layer such that a high transmittance area with the highest transmittance for the laser beam is formed within the aperture of the electrode; and a dielectric layer covering the contact layer and the ¼ wavelength layer, except for the electrode formed part.
Abstract:
Provided is a method of inhibiting the formation of coke in an ethylene dichloride to vinyl chloride monomer pyrolysis cracker. The coke formation, which occurs during an ethylene dichloride pyrolysis reaction, is inhibited by contacting a heat-transfer surface of the cracker and a boron compound. The amount of coke generated when a coke formation-inhibiting material is used is 50% or less of that when a coke formation-inhibiting material is not used. In this case, however, the ethylene chloride conversion and the selectivity to a vinyl chloride monomer during the pyrolysis reaction are not affected. Accordingly, the efficiency of the pyrolysis cracker can be maximized.

Disclosed are a gas flow meter and a method for measuring the velocity of gas, wherein the reliability of real time measurement may be improved and a specific gas may be selected and measured. The gas flow meter includes: at least a gas detecting section for radiating light having a wavelength that is absorbed by a specific gas to the specific gas, of which flow velocity is to be measured, in a mixture gas including at least one gas, detecting the irradiance absorption of the corresponding wavelength of the specific gas, and providing a detection signal corresponding to the detected irradiance and a control section for calculating the flow velocity of the specific gas to be measured in real time based on the detection signal, which is provided from the gas detection section.
Abstract:
A pattern wheel driver is provided. The pattern wheel driver includes a rotatable pattern wheel with patterned regions repeatedly formed on the pattern wheel. Each of the patterned regions has a plurality of patterns. Each of the plurality of patterns has a different width. The pattern wheel driver also includes a detector for detecting the plurality of patterns, mounted at a position where the patterned regions of the pattern wheel pass when the pattern wheel rotates. The pattern wheel driver also includes an encoder for producing a signal indicating whether the pattern wheel rotates in a forward direction or a reverse direction based on signals produced by the detector.
Abstract:
A method for providing 11C-labeled cyanides from 11C labeled oxides in a target gas stream retrieved from an irradiated high pressure gaseous target containing O2 is provided, wherein 11C labeled oxides are reduced with H2 in the presence of a nickel catalyst under a pressure and a temperature sufficient to form a product stream comprising at least about 95% 11CH4 , the 11CH4 is then combined with an excess of NH3 in a carrier/reaction stream flowing at an accelerated velocity and the combined 11CH4 carrier/reaction stream is then contacted with a platinum (Pt) catalyst particulate supported on a substantially-chemically-nonreactive heat-stable support at a temperature of at least about 900 ° C., whereby a product stream comprising at least about 60%H11CN is provided in less than 10 minutes from retrieval of the 11C labeled oxide.
Abstract:
An internal antenna module and a wireless communication apparatus having the same are disclosed. The internal antenna module includes a carrier having a partition formed on a surface thereof and a space defined by the partition; and a radiator disposed on the partition of the carrier. The space is formed in a region of the surface of the carrier excluding a region required to support the radiator. Therefore, influence of the carrier is minimized so that the radiation performance may be improved.
