Abstract:
A detachable vehicle roof is described herein. Various embodiments may include overhead covers, hinges, and a frame. The overhead covers may cover a vehicle passenger compartment. The hinges may connect the overhead covers to the frame. The frame may be detachable from a vehicle chassis. The frame may include a rear support bar, cross-bars, and a front support bar. The cross-bars may connect the front support bar to the rear support bar. The front support bar may form a contour of an edge of a vehicle windshield. The front support bar may form a contour of an edge of a vehicle chassis. The contour may have a bend corresponding to a position on the chassis where the windshield mounts to the chassis. A buffer zone may be provided between the front support bar and the windshield, and/or between the front support bar and the chassis.
Abstract:
The invention generally relates to a method of regenerating a nerve fiber in a damaged neural tissue of a patient, the method comprising the steps of: administering an aqueous formulation comprising superparamagnetic particles to the damaged neural tissue in the patient; applying a magnetic field in an orientation which is parallel to the nerve fiber; using the magnetic field for aligning the superparamagnetic particles; forming one or more aligned chains of the superparamagnetic particles in the magnetic field as a scaffold to guide directional growth of regenerating nerve cells; and reconnecting damaged nerve ends in the damaged neural tissue of the patient.
Abstract:
An out-of-autoclave compression molding system is disclosed herein. The system includes a mold, a vacuum bag, a vacuum valve, a pressure plate, and a pressure valve. The mold includes a concave feature and a flange. The vacuum bag covers at least the concave feature. The pressure plate is positioned outside the vacuum bag clamped to the flange and on the mold to form a pressure cavity between the vacuum bag and the plate. An out-of-autoclave compression molding process is also described. The process includes pressing a composite material and thermoset resin into a mold having a flange; surrounding the mold, composite material, and resin with a vacuum bag; sealing and evacuating the vacuum bag; clamping a pressure plate to the flange; and pressurizing the cavity.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an athletic brace which is composed of a flexible sleeve and a rigid framed brace. An elastic tubular shaped fabric sleeve is first placed over the elbow or knee joint and has upper front and lower rear raised lips that are used to prevent the rigid and compact framed brace from slipping downwards during usage. The tight fit of the rigid brace inside the raised lip gaps of the sleeve prevents the framed brace from slipping down from the elbow or knee joint during usage. This brace is designed to also be compact in size to allow for everyday wear in both contact and non-contact sports for both elbow and knee protection.
Abstract:
A bowl is provided for rapid and repeatable high quality cooking of rice or other grains within a microwave. The bowl includes a reservoir with a floor and walls extending up from the floor to a rim. Handles are preferably provided extending laterally from the rim. A rice line is provided which is visible to a user and defines a height at which rice should be added for cooking within the bowl. A water line is provided above the rice line which defines an elevation to which water should be added for cooking of the rice. In one embodiment walls of the reservoir are tapered to accommodate boiling and frothing without boiling over and still maintaining a compact cooking space within the bowl.
Abstract:
Methods of modulating the binding interactions between a (biomolecular) probe or detection agent and an analyte of interest from a biological sample in a biosensor having a multisite array of test sites. In particular, the methods modulate the pH or ionic concentration gradient near the electrodes in such biosensor. The methods of modulating the binding interactions provide a biosensor and analytic methods for more accurately measuring an analyte of interest in a biological sample.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel quinoline derivatives such as compounds of the formula (I) which have antagonist potency for the 5-HT6 receptor: and the use of such compounds or pharmaceutical compositions thereof in the treatment of CNS and other disorders.

An improved process for making 5,11-dihydro-11-ethyl-5-methyl-8-{2-{(1-oxido-4-quinolinyl)oxy}ethyl}-6H-di pyrido[3,2-b:2′,3′-e][1,4]diazepin-6-one.
Abstract:
Irrigation apparatus and methods for using such apparatus in irrigation are described. The irrigation apparatus combines the function of a regulator, valve, and filter into a single unit, rather than merely connecting the three separate devices to each other using pipe. Incorporating the functions of the three separate devices into a single unit allows a smaller size to be used, making it quicker and easier to install and/or replace in the limited space provided by irrigation boxes. Using a single apparatus alternatively allows a smaller irrigation box to be used, saving on costs.
