摘要: This invention pertains to aqueous emulsions containing water insoluble, vinyl polymer particles containing polymerized Michael adduct units of N-vinylformamide and to emulsions of vinyl acetate polymers containing said Michael adducts. These latex dispersions are prepared by the emulsion polymerization of a Michael adduct of N-vinylformamide, optionally with other ethylenically unsaturated monomers, e.g., vinyl acetate. The Michael adducts of N-vinylformamide are represented by the formula: ##STR1## where R is H or CH.sub.3, X=CN, O=CR.sub.1, O=COR.sub.1 or other electron withdrawing group such as SO.sub.3 M, SO.sub.3 R.sub.1 and NO.sub.2 wherein R.sub.1 is a linear or branched alkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocyclic, arylalkyl, alkyloxy or aryl group containing between 1 and about 20 carbon atoms and substituted derivatives thereof and M is an ion. The preferred Michael adduct N-vinyl amide monomers are unsaturated monomers consisting of the alkl 3-N-vinylformamidopropionates and alkyl 2-methyl-3-N-vinylformamidopropionates and represented by the formula: ##STR2## where R is hydrogen or methyl, and R.sup.1 is a linear or branched alkyl, cycloalkyl, heterocyclic, arylalkyl, alkyloxy or aryl group containing between 1 and about 20 carbon atoms.

摘要: A Solid-State Disk (SSD) controller performs soft-decision decoding with a single read, thus improving performance, power, and/or reliability of a storage sub-system, such as an SSD. In a first aspect, the controller generates soft-decision metrics from channel parameters of a hard decode read, without additional reads and/or array accesses. In a second aspect, the controller performs soft decoding using the generated soft-decision metrics. In a third aspect, the controller generates soft-decision metrics and performs soft decoding with the generated soft-decision metrics when a hard decode read error occurs.

摘要: The disclosure provides a method for passing a parameter between processors. The method comprises the following steps: in a source program of a slave processor, directly introducing a static configuration parameter to be passed; obtaining a relative address of the static configuration parameter when converting the source program of the slave processor into a target program of the slave processor; and configuring directly, by a master processor, a parameter value of the static configuration parameter in the target program of the slave processor according to the obtained relative address of the static configuration parameter. The disclosure also provides a system for passing a parameter between processors. The system has no need to use external hardware such as a dual-port Random Access Memory (RAM) and a register, thus, the requirement of parameter transmission on the external hardware is reduced, and further the area and static power consumption of a chip are reduced. The disclosure reduces the cycle delay of the slave processor in accessing the dual-port RAM and the register, thereby effectively reducing the dynamic power consumption of the chip, improving the processing capability of the slave processor and enhancing the effective performance of the slave processor.

摘要: In a data processing system, having a twiddle factor unit, a method for performing a mixed-radix discrete Fourier transform (DFT) having a block size, N, and a maximum block size, Nmax, wherein the maximum block size includes a radix that is not a power of 2 is provided. The method includes receiving a delta value at an input of the twiddle factor unit, the delta value representing a ratio of a modified maximum bock size to the block size, wherein the modified maximum block size is a power of 2. The method further includes using the delta value to obtain a step size for generating indices of a look-up table stored within the twiddle factor unit, wherein the look-up table stores real and imaginary components of twiddle factors corresponding to a set of block sizes of the DFT.

摘要: A technique for extracting a control channel from a received signal includes storing interleaved control channel elements of the received signal in a control channel region of a memory. First addresses for first elements that are included in a first control channel are then generated using a first circuit. Finally, the respective first elements are read, using a second circuit, from the control channel region of the memory according to the generated first addresses to provide the first control channel in a deinterleaved form.

摘要: In a wireless communication system (200), a compact control signaling scheme is provided for signaling the selected retransmission mode and codeword identifier for a codeword retransmission when one of a plurality of codewords (CW1, CW2) being transmitted over two codeword pipes to a receiver (201.i) fails the transmission and when the base station/transmitter (210) switches from a higher order channel rank (231) to a lower order channel rank (241), either by including one or more additional signaling bits in the control signal (240) to identify the retransmitted codeword, or by re-using existing control signal information in a way that can be recognized by the subscriber station/receiver to identify the retransmitted codeword. With the compact control signal, the receiver (201.i) is able to determine which codeword is being retransmitted and to determine the corresponding time-frequency resource allocation for the retransmitted codeword.
