A process is described for the preparation of stable, agglomerate-free, low-viscosity graft copolymer dispersions by the free-radical polymerization of olefinic monomers, such as styrene and/or acrylonitrile, with polyol compounds in the presence of a hydroxyl compound modified with castor oil. The use of these graft copolymer dispersions in the manufacture of polyurethane plastics, particularly flexible foams, by the isocyanate polyaddition process is also described.

A new process for the standardization and stabilization with simultaneous increase of reactivity of organic polyisocyanates and the polyisocyanates produced by this process. A polyisocyanate is mixed with compounds having at least one epoxide group which are represented by a specified formula. This mixture is then stabilized with a silylating agent and/or alkylating agent represented by specified formula. The polyisocyanate/epoxide mixture may optionally be heated before the stabilizing agents are added. These polyisocyanates are useful in the production of polyisocyanate addition products.

The present invention is directed to monoformylated 3,3'-diaminodipropylamine mixtures corresponding to formulae I and II ##STR1## The present invention is also directed to a process for the production of these mixtures by reacting acrylonitrile and formamide in the presence of a 4-aminopyridine derivative to form N,N-bis-(2-cyanoethyl)-formamide which is then hydrogenated to the monoformylated 3,3'-diaminopropylamine mixture corresponding to formulae I and II.Finally, the present invention is also directed to the use of these mixtures as chain extending agents for the preparation of polyurethanes by the polyisocyanate polyaddition process.

The present invention relates to a substantially anhydrous binder having a self-releasing effect for the production of pressed articles comprising:(A) a polyisocyanate; and(B) a sulfonic acid corresponding to the general formula:R--SO.sub.3 H).sub.n whereinn represents an integer of 1 or 2;R represents an aromatic hydrocarbon radical having from 6 to 14 carbon atoms, an aliphatic hydrocarbon radical having from 10 to 18 carbon atoms, a cycloaliphatic hydrocarbon radical having from 6 to 15 carbon atoms, an araliphatic hydrocarbon radical having from 7 to 15 carbon atoms or an alkaromatic hydrocarbon radical having from 7 to 24 carbon atoms; and the equivalent ratio of the components (A) and (B) is 100:0.5 to 100:20.The invention is also directed to the use of such binders in the production of shaped articles by the hot pressing of a wide variety of organic and/or inorganic materials.

The present invention relates to aqueous isocyanate emulsions and their use as binders in the production of shaped articles.
