摘要: A control system for an automatic transmission in a vehicle powertrain including an engine and a fluid coupling for transmitting the rotation of an engine to the transmission, the transmission having a clutch which is applied responsive to selection of a forward running range and a hydraulic servo for applying the clutch responsive to an oil pressure. The control system includes a control unit for controlling the oil pressure to the hydraulic servo; an input torque detector for detecting the input torque to be inputted to the transmission; and a specific state detector for detecting satisfaction of a set of specific starting conditions including: (1) that the forward running range has been selected, (2) that the vehicle is stopped and (3) that the engine is in an idling state. The control unit sets the oil pressure to the hydraulic servo to correspond to the input torque at the instant of detection of satisfaction the specific starting conditions, and includes: a first pressure-reducer for abruptly reducing the oil pressure of the hydraulic servo to a set oil pressure immediately before the release of the clutch is started; and a second pressure-reducer for gradually reducing the oil pressure of the hydraulic servo, which has been reduced to the set oil pressure by the first pressure-reducer.

摘要: The present invention prevents shift shock and reduces time required to execute the complete speed change operation in the case where a second speed change is commanded while a first speed change operation is still in progress. If a down-shift to a first speed stage is commanded during an up-shift operation from the first to the second speed, the hydraulic pressure in the second speed change operation is controlled in accordance with the state of the first speed change operation at the time of generation of the command for the second speed change. For example, if a down-shift to the first speed stage is commanded during the torque phase of an up-shift operation from first to second speeds, namely, before change in the rotational speed of the input shaft has started, only completion control of the down-shift operation is executed. On the other hand, if the down-shift to the first speed stage is commanded during the inertia phase of the up-shift operation, namely, after the speed change has been started, hydraulic control of the down-shift is started with the initial speed change control.

摘要: A control system for an automatic transmission includes: an input clutch applied, responsive to selection of a forward running range, to transmit the rotation of an engine to a transmission mechanism; a hydraulic servo for selectively applying/releasing the input clutch; a stop state detector for detecting a stop state of a vehicle in terms of the selection of the forward running range, lack of vehicle speed, the release of an accelerator pedal and the depression of a brake pedal; starting operation detector for detecting an operation to start the vehicle in motion; application state detector for detecting the application state of the input clutch; and a controller for controlling oil pressure fed to the hydraulic servo on the basis of signals coming from the various detectors. If arrival at a predetermined released state is decided, the hydraulic servo is fed with a summed oil pressure which is the total of an initial application oil pressure and a release oil pressure, to initiate piston movement and start of engagement of the input clutch, and the oil pressure is thereafter gradually raised from the summed pressure on the basis of a predetermined pressure relationship. If a failure to arrive at the predetermined released state is decided, the oil pressure is gradually raised on the basis of the predetermined pressure relationship from the oil pressure which is fed to the hydraulic servo when a starting operation is detected.

摘要: A control system for an automatic transmission operates a clutch in a speed change unit to disconnect a transmission mechanism from a fluid transmission unit during a neutral operating state while the vehicle in a forward gear is held stopped by braking with the throttle fully closed. Reengagement of the clutch such as by depression of accelerator pedal (throttle open), release of the brake pedal, etc., is produced by a gradual increase in oil pressure to the servo operating the clutch to prevent clutch application shock. Wear on the clutch is reduced by abrupt increase of the oil pressure in response to satisfaction of a clutch engagement completion condition based upon input RPM, output RPM and the gear ratio of the target gear. In one embodiment, this abrupt increase occurs immediately after satisfaction of the clutch engagement completion condition when the throttle is open but occurs after elapse of a set time period from satisfaction of the clutch engagement completion condition when the throttle is closed. In a second embodiment when the throttle is closed, an application standby condition based on the input RPM, the output RPM and the gear ratio indicating backward vehicle movement is determined after the clutch engagement completion condition is satisfied. If backward movement is indicated, the abrupt increase in oil pressure is made after a set time period, otherwise the abrupt increase occurs immediately. In a third embodiment, a second clutch engagement completion condition requirement is substituted for the delay of the set time period of the second embodiment to prevent application shock during the clutch engagement.

摘要: In an automatic transmission including a gear unit with a second brake connected in series with a one-way clutch and a first brake that is not connected with a one-way clutch, the second brake and the first brake are controlled by linear solenoid valves individually. A vehicle load is detected, and when the vehicle is in a high load state, at first the second brake performs an engagement control, then after input rotation to the gear unit is synchronized with output rotation of the gear unit, the first brake performs an engagement control. When the vehicle is in a low load state, at first the first brake performs an engagement control, then after input rotation to the gear unit is synchronized with output rotation of the gear unit, the second brake performs an engagement control.

摘要: A multi-stage automatic transmission using a reduction planetary gear and a planetary gear set in which the respective thrust forces generated thereat are supported by a low bearing load or a low case load. The automatic transmission is provided with a reduction planetary gear, coupled to an input shaft to fix a reaction force element so as to output a reduction rotation to an output element, and a planetary gear set, that outputs a speed shift rotation upon input of the subsequent reduction rotation. During at least first gear driving, there is provided a force transmission route in which thrust forces generated at one element of the reduction planetary gear and one element of the planetary gear set, respectively, are transmitted. In that route, a torsion direction of the helical teeth of the respective elements are set such that a direction of a thrust force of the element and a direction of the thrust force of the other element are different from each other during first gear driving.

摘要: A hydraulic servo unit for a vehicular power transmission system having a helical gear, including a clutch for connecting predetermined rotary elements to each other and a hydraulic servo for applying the clutch, the hydraulic servo including a cylinder, a piston fitted in the cylinder, a push member abutting against the piston through a bearing for transmitting the push force of the piston to the clutch, and a return spring for the piston, one of the rotary elements including a reaction member opposed to the push member for transmitting the push force of the piston to a case, and the cylinder is a stationary cylinder formed in the case. Further, the return spring is arranged between the push member and the reaction member and is loaded to apply a load higher than the thrust force of the helical gear, as acting upon the reaction member.
