Abstract: Proposed are a management apparatus and a management method capable of facilitating resource management With the provided management apparatus and management method for managing a resource allocated to a virtual node that provides a file sharing service to a client in units of a resource management group configured from a plurality of mutually associated resources, an association between the resources is extracted based on history information of access from the client, and the associated resource management groups are integrated based on the extracted association between the resources. Thus, it is possible to reduce the number of resource management groups to be managed, and resource management is thereby facilitated.

Abstract: An optical recording/reproducing method and an optical recording medium capable of performing excellent optical recording with a simple structure in a recording layer made of environmentally friendly materials. The optical recording medium has a recording layer formed on a substrate and made of a mixture of a recording assist material and a dielectric material. A laser beam of which intensity is modulated in accordance with information to be recorded is irradiated onto this recording layer to cause a state change in the recording assist material and/or the dielectric material. The information can be recorded by changing optical characteristics thereof such as reflectivity. The recording assist material includes an element selected from Sn, Ti, Si, Bi, Ge, and C as a principle component, while the dielectric material as a base material for the dielectric layers is at least one of ZnS, SiO2, AlN, and Ta2O5.

Abstract: A stamper with a sharp protrusion/depression pattern is obtained, and high precision information media can be produced using this stamper. A method of manufacturing a stamper comprises the steps of manufacturing a photoresist master 100 by laminating a light absorption layer 103 and a photoresist layer 104 on top of a substrate 102, and then forming an protrusion/depression pattern 106 in the photoresist layer 104 by forming and developing a latent image, providing Pd on the surface of the protrusion/depression pattern 106 as a preliminary treatment to conducting electroless plating onto the protrusion/depression pattern of the photoresist master 100, and forming a stamper 120 by forming a thin metal film 108 on top of the Pd-containing protrusion/depression pattern surface by using electroless plating, forming a Ni film 110 on top of this Ni thin film 108 using electroforming, and then removing the thin metal film 108 and the Ni film 110.

Abstract: In a method for forming a duplicate image by reading an original image from an original sheet and forming a duplicate image according to the original image, to allow the designation of a number of regions for forming duplicate regional images, from an overall image, with desired color separation or other various attributes to be carried out accurately, promptly and simply by mounting the original sheet only once on a digitizer or the like without regard to the number of processes of forming a duplicate image, a plurality of regions designated on a single original sheet are stored in a storage device such as computer memory, either the designated region stored in the storage device or the region other than the designated region is defined as an effective region, a duplicate image of only the effective region is formed for a first process of forming a duplicate image, only the region other than the effective region for the first process of forming a duplicate image is defined as a new effective region, and a duplicate image only for this new effective region is formed for the second process of forming a duplicate image.

Abstract: A lithium secondary cell includes a negative electrode, a positive electrode, and a non-aqueous lithium-containing electrolyte solution. The negative and/or positive electrode includes a current collector, an underlying layer, and an electrode layer. The underlying layer is formed of a thermoset composition comprising carbon black, a thermosetting fluorinated polymer, and a crosslinking agent or a radiation-cured composition comprising carbon black, a radiation-curable polymer, and optionally a radiation-curable compound. The underlying layer is effective for maintaining firm adhesion between the current collector and the electrode layer during repetitive charge/discharge cycles.
