    摘要: The present invention provides a system and method for releasably retaining at least one coil spring. The present invention utilizes a circumferential castellation formed within a housing operable to receive within the notches formed by the castellation a complimentary number of fingers formed from a retainer plate. The retainer plate is operable to hold the coil springs in compression and is fixed in place by an internal snap ring disposed within an inwardly facing circumferential grove formed on the radial inner side of the protruding blocks or dentils formed by the castellation.

    摘要: A power transmission has a parking pawl which is engageable with a toothed member on the transmission output shaft to prevent rotation of the output shaft when the parking pawl is set. The pawl is manipulated by a manual selector shaft and a detent plate. The detent plate is also drivingly connected with a transmission range selector valve through a pin which engages an annular groove in the selector valve. The pin is driven by a cam on the detent plate and is guided in a pair of longitudinal slots formed on the valve body which slidably houses the selector valve.

    摘要: An electro-mechanical drive-unit includes an input member, an output member, a drive-unit housing, and a gearing arrangement operatively connected to each of the output and input members. The drive-unit also includes a pump for circulating pressurized fluid and an electric motor. The electric motor includes a rotor connected to the gearing arrangement, a stator fixed relative to the drive-unit housing and having wire windings, and a motor housing configured to retain the rotor and the stator. The drive-unit also includes a fluid cavity between the drive-unit housing and the motor housing configured to receive the pressurized fluid. The drive-unit housing defines a passage in fluid communication with the fluid cavity. The drive-unit also includes a fastener having a head and a shank. The fastener is secured within the passage to facilitate discharging the fluid from under the fastener head onto the wire windings for cooling and/or lubrication thereof.

    摘要: A hybrid transmission includes a transmission housing and a motor/generator stator configured to be attached to the transmission housing. A clutch housing is configured to be attached to the motor/generator stator, such that the clutch housing is not directly attached to the transmission housing but is statically fixed. An axis of rotation defines a coordinate system having axial, radial, and clocking rotations. A first piloting feature may be formed on the clutch housing and a second piloting feature on the transmission housing. The first and second piloting features cooperate to axially and radially orient, but not attach, the clutch housing relative to the transmission housing. Third and fourth piloting features cooperate to orient the clocking rotation of the clutch housing. Stator bolts may permanently locate and attach the motor/generator stator to the transmission housing, and clutch bolts permanently locate and attach the clutch housing to the motor/generator stator.

    摘要: A seal for use between the housing of an automatic transmission and the housing (can) of a transmission drive motor is disposed at each end of the drive motor housing. The seal includes a preferably metal annulus having inner and outer elastomeric ribbed seals secured thereto. The annulus, which defines a non-hardened “S” shape in cross section, maintains the shape and strength of the seal and the ribbed inner seal provides a fluid tight seal with the motor housing while the ribbed outer seal provides a fluid tight seal with the transmission housing.

    摘要: A motor/generator for a hybrid transmission includes a bearing support configured for attachment to the hybrid transmission. A stator can is bonded directly to the bearing support, possibly by welding. The motor/generator may further include a stator press-fit into said stator can. A method of assembling a hybrid transmission includes welding a stator can to a bearing support, forming a motor/generator housing. A stator is then pressed into the housing. A substantially-complete motor/generator is assembled by installing a rotor, a rotor hub, and a ball bearing into the housing, which are held in the motor/generator housing with a snap ring. The method may include rigidly attaching the substantially-complete motor/generator to a main case. The method may further include testing the substantially-complete motor/generator prior to transporting the motor/generator to a final place of assembly and rigidly attaching the motor/generator to the transmission main case.

    摘要: The invention provides a transmission case that includes a rear housing that partially encloses transmission components about a center axis. The rear housing sealingly connects to a main housing at one end and to a drive unit extension at another end. The rear housing has an axial passage generally parallel to the center axis and a cross passage that is substantially perpendicular to the axial passage. The cross passage is in fluid communication with the axial passage to allow draining of fluid within the drive unit extension to the main housing. A method of returning fluid to a transmission oil sump is also provided.
