摘要: A device for displaying desired characters in a different color by selectively combining and illuminating a plurality of display segments is equipped with a display segment group including a first display segment sub-group having four vertical multi-sided display segments and three horizontal multi-sided display segments which are disposed so as to, in conjunction with each other, form a substantially 8 shape, for illuminating a predetermined color, and a second display segment group having four vertical multi-sided display segments and three horizontal multi-sided display segments which are disposed so as to, in conjunction with each other, have a substantially 8 shape, for illuminating a color different from that illuminated by the first display segment group, wherein the horizontal multi-sided display segments of the first and the second display segment groups are narrower than the vertical multi-sided display segments thereof. Accordingly, it is possible to ensure the continuity of the display segments and to display the desired characters or the like in a different color from each other, thereof enhancing the appearance thereof aesthetically.

摘要: A current stretch detection method for a bubble device in which bubbles are written at least one bit apart. A stretch pulse is applied to a stretch conductor so that when a bubble is detected, it is maintained stretched, even though the bubble following it has moved one bit. Preferably the stretch pulse is of a convex-shape. A bubble device has a hairpin stretch conductor and a detecting element disposed centrally in the conductor. The terminal of the detecting element on the higher potential side is arranged so that it does not cross the stretch conductor. The contiguous propagation pattern is provided with a notch at a position in which the stretch conductor is located.

摘要: A magnetic bubble memory device includes: a magnetic layer with a first region having an easy axis of magnetization extending in a certain direction and a second region surrounding the first region and having an easy axis of magnetization substantially perpendicular to that of the first region, said first region defining a plurality of bubble propagation patterns; and a replicate gate with a stretch conductor pattern, to which an electric current is applied so as to stretch a bubble between said propagation patterns, and a cutting pattern formed in the second region between the propagation patterns and adapted to lower the bubble collapse field so as to cut the stretched domain. The replicate gate is operated by applying an operating current pulse to the stretch conductor pattern, said operating pulse including a stretch pulse for stretching the bubble and a cut pulse, following the stretch pulse, for cutting the stretched domain.

摘要: A magnetic bubble memory device comprises: a magnetic layer which has a first region having the easy axis of magnetization extending in a certain direction and a second region surrounding said first region and having the easy axis of magnetization substantially perpendicular to that of the first region, said first region defining at least one major loop pattern for propagation of information bubbles and a plurality of minor loop patterns for storage of information bubbles; and an electrical conductor pattern deposited on said magnetic layer in a region in which the major loop pattern and the minor loop patterns are opposed to each other, thereby constructing a transfer gate. The major loop pattern is provided, at the portions thereof substantially opposed to the ends of the minor loop patterns in the transfer gate, with gaps through which the bubbles are transferred between the major loop pattern and the minor loop patterns. The transfer gate is driven by means of a convex-shaped pulse of transfer current.

摘要: In a method for manufacturing a module for a fiber optic link, a plate-shaped transparent circuit unit is molded in advance. The circuit module is transfer molded together with an optoelectronic element connected to leads. The circuit module is clamped between a pair of rod-shaped first dies which have a common central axis and one of which defines an optical path of the module, in such a manner that the optoelectronic element is located on a central axis of the circuit module. Under this condition, the circuit module is housed in a cavity defined by a pair of second dies. A light-shielding molding material is injected into the cavity for injection molding to mold a case. After the case is cured, the first and second dies are removed, and the hole of the case formed by one of the first die is closed with a cap to complete a receptacle.

摘要: A grating coupled surface emitting laser has a diffraction grating of a second or higher order for guided-mode light part of a waveguide region, and extract a beam in a direction perpendicular to the waveguide region. By narrowing a stripe of the waveguide region around the center, the phase of the diffraction grating is shifted to attain a Gaussian distribution for radiation-mode light in a cross section along the waveguiding direction.

摘要: A reflective type liquid crystal display device including a layer of liquid crystal having a light scattering property such as a polymer dispersed type liquid crystal or a phase change type liquid crystal. The layer of liquid crystal is arranged between first and second plates having transparent electrodes, respectively, the first plate being transparent and the second plate having a reflecting layer. A color filter including red, green, and blue color portions and a black color portion, and an internal transparent plate having a thickness to provide a sufficient distance between the layer of liquid crystal and the color filter to diffuse the appearance of the color filter viewed through the scattering liquid crystal in the light scattering mode are also placed between the first and second plates. The layer of liquid crystal having light scattering property is brought into a light scattering mode to produce a white display when the voltage is not applied, and into a transparent mode to produce a color display and a black display when the voltage is applied.

摘要: A fluid-sealed engine mounting has a connector adapted to be connected to an engine, a base adapted to be connected to a vehicle frame, an elastic member joined between the connector and the base and elastically deformable in response to vibrations transmitted thereto, the connector, the base, and the elastic member jointly defining a fluid chamber in which a fluid is sealed, and a partition dividing the fluid chamber into a first chamber adjacent to the connector and a second chamber adjacent to the base, the partition having an orifice through which the first and second chambers communicate with each other. The engine mounting also includes a diaphragm mounted on the base or the connector for varying the volume of one of the first and second chambers when vibrations are transmitted to the engine mounting.
