摘要: The navigation device of the invention includes a main processing unit provided with a CPU and storage means; a sub-processing unit connected to the main processing unit; connectors for connecting the main processing unit and the sub-processing unit; and functional components connected to the sub-processing unit. In this case, even when the specifications of the various functional component (s) connected to the sub-processing unit are different, by designing and manufacturing the sub-processing unit in conformance with each component, the main processing unit can be designed and manufactured as a general-purpose (standardized) product. Therefore, not only is the mountability of the navigation device improved, but also the cost thereof is reduced.

摘要: In an electronic control type automatic speed changer equipped with a linear solenoid for controlling the oil pressure of the automatic speed changer, when potential difference is generated between the power ground (PE) and the signal ground (SE), the line pressure of the automatic speed changer does not coincide with the predetermined set value due to erroneous signals generated. In order to compensate for the potential difference between PE and SE, according to the present invention, a PE -SE potential difference compensator is provided in series between a current monitor device and PE, and a solenoid monitor circuit is provided for monitoring the potential of the connection point of the current monitor device and the PE-SE potential difference compensator. Thus even if there is a potential difference between PE and SE, a potential difference proportional to the current actually flowing in the linear solenoid can be detected. Thus, the current set for the solenoid current can be accurately made to coincide with the actual solenoid current, and the accuracy of control of the oil pressure of the automatic speed changer can be enhanced.

摘要: In an electronic controller for an automatic transmission having at least one driving circuit incorporating a switching device for driving a solenoid used as an actuator, at least one monitor circuit for detecting an abnormal state of the actuator, and a control section connected to these circuits, an emergency power cutoff circuit is provided between the solenoid driving circuit and the positive terminal of a battery (solenoid driving power source). The switching operation of the emergency power cutoff circuit is freely controlled to effect fail-safe control on the basis of a signal which is output from a microcomputer if, for example, the switching device in the controller malfunctions by short-circuiting.

摘要: A lamp output protective circuit for an electronic controller having a first npn transistor connected to an output terminal through which a lamp is supplied with electric power, a resistor connected between the emitter of said first npn transistor and the ground, and a second npn transistor having its collector connected to the base of the first npn transistor, its emitter to the ground and its base to a point between the emitter of the first npn transistor and the resistor. The base of the first npn transistor and the collector of the second npn transistor are connected to a signal line of the electronic controller connected to a power source. The base current of the first npn transistor is controlled with the second npn transistor and the resistor in order to cut off the flow of excess current in the first npn transistor in such a manner that the second npn transistor is turned on to bypass the base current of the first npn transistor when a certain voltage is applied to the base of the second npn transistor in response to the emitter current of the first npn transistor. The resistor can be made negligible compared with the lamp resistance, enabling the first npn transistor to be protected without reducing the illumination of the lamp.

摘要: If a driver wishes to start off an automotive vehicle in second or third gear when the vehicle is at rest on a road surface having a low coefficient of friction, as is the case when a road surface is covered with snow, the driver operates a winter mode selection switch while the transmission is in the speed range in which the vehicle ordinarily travels, i.e. the D range. After the vehicle has started off in the higher gear following use of the switch, the transmission switches over to the ordinary travel mode automatically as vehicle velocity rises. In a case where the engine is turned off and then restarted, the transmission switches over to the ordinary travel mode automatically. This eliminates any inconvenience that might be caused by forgetting to operate the switch prior to the restarting of the engine.

摘要: A sealing and connecting device for cables used in a hydraulic control system of an automatic transmission includes a connecting element to be fixed into a hole formed in a housing in which the hydraulic control system is installed. The connecting element is formed substantially in cylindrical shape and provides plural passages and an internal cylindrical space, wherein a rubber bushing is inserted having the same number of through holes as the number of the above passages. Cables having ends electrically connected to a solenoid valve in the hydraulic control system are inserted through the holes in the rubber bushing, and the free ends of the cable are electrically connected within the above passages to other cables which are electrically connected outside the housing. A synthetic resin filler is poured into the surroundings of the cable connection and into the passages where it sets. The connecting element is then pushed into the housing hole and fixed by a flange which projects outward radially and by radially projecting elastic tabs.

摘要: A connector for electric cables used in a hydraulic control system of an automatic transmission includes a sealing member comprising a cylindrical sealing outer cylinder adapted to be fixed in a hole formed in the housing of the hydraulic control system and a sealing partition member having a short cylinder of a small diameter and a plurality of partition walls extending radially from the short cylinder, and two rubber bushings. The free ends of Teflon coated cables, are pulled out through the hole in the housing and are passed through through holes, respectively, of a rubber bushing. The free ends of polyethylene coated cables, are passed through through holes, respectively, of the other rubber bushing, are pulled out through the cavity of the outer cylinder, and are electrically connected to the respective free ends of the corresponding Teflon coated cables by means of joint terminals. The cables thus connected are adjusted so that each joint terminal is disposed within a space defined by radially extending partition walls of the partition member and the inside surface of the outer cylinder. Then one rubber bushing is tightly inserted into one end of the outer cylinder. A synthetic resin filler is poured through the bore of the short cylinder of the sealing partition member to fill up the space around the junctions of the cables formed with the joint terminals. After an appropriate amount of filler has been filled in the space, the other rubber bushing is inserted tightly into the other end of the outer cylinder. Finally, the sealing member is pushed in and securely held in the hole of the housing.

摘要: To prevent wheel spinning in reverse gear on a slippery road surface the electronic control system of the present invention transmits signals representing the states of a reverse range detecting switch and a winter mode switch to a microcomputer, and output signals from the microcomputer are transmitted to an engine control computer which in turn, sends ignition period delay angle signals to the spark timing controller, and the output torque of the engine is thereby reduced. When the output torque of the engine is reduced, the driving power to the wheels is decreased and slippage is reduced in reverse start on a low coefficent of fuction .mu. path.

摘要: A fail-safe control device for an electronically controlled automatic transmission mounted on a vehicle is provided with a sensor for sensing the number of revolutions input to the transmission and a sensor for sensing the number of revolutions output from the transmission or from a car speed sensor. The actual gear ratio of the transmission is calculated in accordance with the number of revolutions input to the transmission and the number of revolutions output from the transmission or from the car speed sensor each obtained from said sensors. The time taken for changing the actual gear ratio at the time of shift initiation to the fixed gear ratio after the shift is measured. A predetermined shift time which has been stored is compared with the thus-measured time for the purpose of detecting a failure of the transmission. As a result of this, a driver can take a measure such as performing an emergency control or the like, and furthermore, the failure can be displayed by a failure alarm device so that the driver can arrange for repair.

摘要: A rate of change in vehicle velocity is calculated by comparing a present vehicle velocity signal and an immediately preceding vehicle velocity signal. If the rate of change in vehicle velocity is greater than a rate of change capable of being produced by actual traveling of the vehicle, a decision is rendered to the effect that the vehicle velocity sensor is faulty, fail-safe mode processing is executed and the automatic transmission is controlled in such a manner that traveling of the vehicle will not be impaired. Thus, if the vehicle velocity sensor malfunctions, the automatic transmission can be controlled so as not to impair traveling of the vehicle, thereby allowing the vehicle to travel safely and stably. The fail-safe function can be performed satisfactorily even if only a single vehicle velocity sensor is provided.
