摘要: A connector for electric cables used in a hydraulic control system of an automatic transmission includes a sealing member comprising a cylindrical sealing outer cylinder adapted to be fixed in a hole formed in the housing of the hydraulic control system and a sealing partition member having a short cylinder of a small diameter and a plurality of partition walls extending radially from the short cylinder, and two rubber bushings. The free ends of Teflon coated cables, are pulled out through the hole in the housing and are passed through through holes, respectively, of a rubber bushing. The free ends of polyethylene coated cables, are passed through through holes, respectively, of the other rubber bushing, are pulled out through the cavity of the outer cylinder, and are electrically connected to the respective free ends of the corresponding Teflon coated cables by means of joint terminals. The cables thus connected are adjusted so that each joint terminal is disposed within a space defined by radially extending partition walls of the partition member and the inside surface of the outer cylinder. Then one rubber bushing is tightly inserted into one end of the outer cylinder. A synthetic resin filler is poured through the bore of the short cylinder of the sealing partition member to fill up the space around the junctions of the cables formed with the joint terminals. After an appropriate amount of filler has been filled in the space, the other rubber bushing is inserted tightly into the other end of the outer cylinder. Finally, the sealing member is pushed in and securely held in the hole of the housing.

摘要: A navigation system provides road guidance by displaying information relating to roads on a structure shape map, together with landmark information, in such a manner that only information around the present position is highlighted. The system retrieves road information in the direction of travel from the present position according to the vehicle speed, or road information within a predetermined angular or distance range in the direction of travel. Information relating to roads includes information indicating a one-way road, information indicating a road into which entry is prohibited, and information indicating a pedestrian crossing and a railroad crossing. These items of information are displayed by using marks, and the landmark information is displayed by using landmarks, thereby displaying information necessary for travel in a readily perceivable manner according to the travel conditions. When the vehicle enters a parking lot in the middle of the guidance for a route to a destination, the system searches for a route from the parking lot to the destination and outputs the found route by using a structure-shape map. The parking lot in this case is one within a predetermined walking distance from the destination. If the parking lot is in close proximity of the destination, further guidance is not necessary and the guidance is terminated.

摘要: In a navigation system, user preferred road data is determined and stored during travel to supplement fixed road data such as map data, intersection data, node data, and destination data stored in CD-ROM for subsequent use in providing route guidance in accordance with user road preferences. The user preferred road data is the data of actual trips, and the preference of the user is reflected in the user preferred road data. To determine user preferences, either the user preferred road data is compared to the fixed road data or a searched route calculated from the user preferred road data and CD-ROM data is compared with the searched route calculated from CD-ROM data. By using the determined user preferences in route searching, it is possible to provide more elaborate route searching and route guidance in accordance with the preference of the user.

Designation and entry of a location are performed by displaying the location name and address retrieved by entry of a telephone number, as well as the map centered on said location, on the display means. Since the amount of data is broken up into the telephone-number data and address data, the amount of telephone-number data can be reduced.

摘要: A navigation system calculates a route from a present position of a vehicle to a destination and provides guidance based on the calculated route. When the vehicle is within a given distance from a next approaching branch point requiring guidance, branch points existing within a given distance from next approaching branch point are determined and direction information for the branch points is acquired. The acquired direction information is compared with direction information at the next approaching branch point, and a common direction information is displayed based on the result of the comparison. Also, the navigation system according to the present invention detects a name of an interchange where the vehicle is to exit from the course and a distance to said interchange based on the present position of the vehicle in case the road where the vehicle is currently driven along is an expressway or a toll road. The navigation system according to the present invention calculates a route from the present position to the destination and properly calculates and provides guidance for the expected time of arrival at the destination as the vehicle moves.

摘要: A solenoid driving circuit for an automatic transmission in which a potential difference compensating device, such as a Darlington-connected transistor circuit, switching transistor, and/or diode, is connected between a resistance element and a power ground, and a controlling device monitors voltage values at opposite sides of the resistor element so as to detect a current value flowing across a solenoid. The controlling device determines whether the detected value of the current flowing across the solenoid is abnormal, and the controlling device shuts off the current of a solenoid driving device when it is abnormal. The potential difference compensating device is provided with a switching device, and the controlling device turns off the switching device when the monitoring current value is abnormal. This circuit prevents an excessive current from flowing to the solenoid and an excessive discharge from the potential difference compensating device to the power ground owing to a short circuit with the supply line of a battery.

摘要: In a fail-safe control device for an electronically controlled automatic transmission to be mounted on a vehicle, a sensor for the number of revolution input to a T/M is newly provided for the electronically controlled automatic transmission, and an actual gear ratio of the T/M is calculated in accordance with the number of revolution input to the T/M and the number of revolution output from the T/M or the car speed. If the calculated actual gear ratio is coincided with the formal gear ratio, it is determined that the state is normal, while if they are not coincided with each other, it is determined that the T/M is in a failure state. As a result of this, failure detection of the T/M is performed. Therefore, in a case when the T/M is in a failure state, a driver can take a measure, for exmple, by performing an emergency control. Furthermore, the occurrence of the failure can be displayed by a detected failure displaying device so that the driver can take a measure such as a repair.

摘要: A fail-safe control device for an electronically controlled automatic transmission to be mounted on a vehicle arranged in such a manner that the number of engine revolution or the number of revolution input to a T/M is detected, the duration of the engine revolving state is counted, and it is determined that a failure of the engine water temperature sensor occurs if the engine water temperature detected by the engine water temperature sensor after a predetermined time elapse counted is lower than a predetermined temperature. As a result of this, a proper fail-safe control against the failure of the engine water temperature sensor can be performed.

摘要: A sensed shift time and a standard value of shift time set for this shift are compared. If the result of the comparison is that the shift time does not fall within an allowable range of standard values, a signal outputted to a linear solenoid is varied in such a manner that the shift time will be held with the range of the standard values. Accordingly, actual shift time while a vehicle is traveling is constantly fed back and controlled so as to attain an optimum shift time. Therefore, even if a change in the shift time is brought about by a change in oil temperature in the transmission or by aging of friction elements or the like, the shift time can be corrected to an optimum value to improve shift sensation as well as the durability of the friction elements.
