    摘要: In a mobile phone applicable to an information processing apparatus, an illumination sensor detects a state of the mobile phone and generates a detection signal, a main controller determines whether or not the generated detection signal is larger than a predetermined reference value and allocates predetermined functions of operation to operation keys based on a result of determination with reference to a table in which the input units and the functions thereof are caused to previously correspond to each other and stored therein. With this arrangement, the number of operation keys or buttons is reduced without reducing the number of functions to be mounted, and the operability output stage line card group the mobile phone is improved even if the size thereof is reduced.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium and a magnetic disk device using the same. The magnetic recording medium comprising a nonmagnetic substrate having applied thereon, through a chromium-based underlayer, at least one magnetic recording layer consisting of cobalt as a principal component, 14 to 23 at % of chromium, 1 to 20 at % of platinum as well as tungsten and carbon. The magnetic recording medium exhibits reduced noise, an improved resolution of the reproducing waveforms and an increased S/N ratio.

    摘要: A magnetic recording medium characterized by comprising: a nonmagnetic substrate; and, provided on the nonmagnetic substrate in the following order, a first underlayer of a nonmagnetic material composed mainly of chromium, a second underlayer of an antiferromagnetic material, with a body-centered cubic structure, having a Neel temperature of at least 60.degree. C., the second underlayer being such that, when the crystal lattice of the antiferromagnetic material is compared with the crystal lattice in the body-centered cubic structure of the first underlayer, the length of a side of the lattice in the (100) face of the former is approximately equal to the length of a diagonal of the lattice in the (100) face of the latter, permitting the second underlayer to be epitaxially grown onto the first underlayer, and a recording layer of a magnetic material composed mainly of cobalt.

    摘要: A shock sensor detects shocks from all directions in a plane. A coil produces a magnetic field. A magnetic fluid is sealed in a closed container located in the magnetic field. A magnetoresistive effect element is also is located in the magnetic field and opposes the magnetic fluid. The magnetic fluid moves relative to the magnetoresistive effect element when the magnetic fluid receives a shock. When the magnetoresistive effect element is subjected to a change in magnetic field, the resistance of the magnetoresistive effect element changes. The magnetoresistive effect element may be formed of four elements in a bridge configuration and the output of the bridge is processed in an output circuit. The output circuit outputs a sensor output when the magnetic fluid moves relative to the magnetoresistive effect element.

    摘要: A head carriage of a disk drive apparatus includes a carriage main body for supporting a first magnetic head; and a head arm which is rotatably provided in the carriage main body, and supports a second magnetic head. The head carriage has an engaging projection engaged with the lead screw and is moved by a distance in proportion to the rotation of the lead screw driven by a stepping motor. A restraining member that is detached from the spiral groove of the lead screw and restrains; relative displacement of the head carriage with respect to the lead screw.
