    摘要: Light emitting systems are disclosed. The light emitting system emits an output light that has a first color. The light emitting system includes a first electroluminescent device that emits light at a first wavelength in response to a first signal. The first wavelength is substantially independent of the first signal. The intensity of the emitted first wavelength light is substantially proportional to the first signal. The light emitting system further includes a first luminescent element that includes a second electroluminescent device and a first light converting layer. The second electroluminescent device emits light at a second wavelength in response to a second signal. The first light converting layer includes a semiconductor potential well and converts at least a portion of light at the second wavelength to light at a third wavelength that is longer than the second wavelength. The light emitting system combines light at the first wavelength with light at the third wavelength to form the output light at the first color. When one of the first and second signals changes from about 50% of a maximum rating of the signal to about 100% of the maximum rating, but the ratio of the first signal to the second signal remains substantially unchanged, the first color of the output light remains substantially unchanged.

The detection sensor includes a housing having several apertures and a wireless network sensor located in the housing. The wireless network sensor has several sensors for detecting events occurring proximate them, a processor for receiving and processing data from the sensors, and a wireless transmitter for wirelessly transmitting data. Each of the sensors is contained within one of the apertures, and the apertures have shapes configured to provide for varying types of coverage areas for each of the sensors.

    摘要: A wireless network sensor includes several sensors for detecting events occurring proximate the sensors. It also includes a processor for receiving and processing data from the sensors and a wireless transmitter for wirelessly transmitting data. The processor is programmed to determine if an event occurred related to a particular change in a signal level of a signal received from one of the sensors and compress the event data. The compressed data can then be wirelessly sent to a computer for additional processing such as providing an indication of traffic patterns in an area monitored by the wireless network sensor.

    摘要: A MEMS-based device to steer and manipulate beams of light traveling in free-space in an optical switch. The optical switch is based on a rotating vertical micro-mirror constructed on a surface of a substrate. At least one input optical fiber is arranged to direct at least one optical signal through free-space along a first optical path parallel to the surface of the substrate. A plurality of output optical fibers are arranged to receive the optical signal traveling through free-space along other optical paths not co-linear with the first optical path. At least one substantially vertical, rotating micro-mirror assembly is constructed on the substrate. The assembly includes a rotating micro-mirror with a vertical centerline and an axis of rotation both perpendicular to the surface, but not co-linear. The rotating micro-mirror is rotatable between a first position not in the first optical path and at least a second position redirecting the optical signal to one of the output optical fibers.
