Abstract:
A passenger compartment of a vehicle body has a protective device that protects the vehicle occupants in a side collision. The protective device being integrated into each vehicle door, each vehicle seat, and into the center console fastened to the body floor and including reinforcing elements extending transversely to the lengthwise axis of the compartment. Impact plates are located between the elements, all of which elements lie in a horizontal plane and abut one another by the impact plates in the event of a side collision. The protective device is configured so that as soon as the lateral deformation of the passenger compartment begins in a crash, the reinforcing elements form a continuous cross member for accepting the force. At least one of the reinforcing elements that abut one another transversely to the lengthwise axis of the compartment in a side collision is designed so that it can be increased to a maximum length, in such fashion that all the gaps that exist between the reinforcing elements and the impact plates in the pre-collision state of the passenger compartment disappear. An actuator that can be actuated in the event of a collision adjusts the at least one reinforcing element to this maximum length.
Abstract:
A sun screen of a motor vehicle is swivellable at least about an axis extending essentially transversely with respect to a windshield of the motor vehicle between a first end position, in which the sun screen extends parallel to a vehicle roof, and a second end position, in which the sun screen extends parallel to the windshield. Such a sun screen has ventilation openings through which an exchange of air can take place between an occupant interior and an interior of the sun screen which can be connected to an air conditioner of the motor vehicle. A recess is provided in a roof-side exterior side of the sun screen and communicates with the interior of the sun screen. A connection opening of the air conditioner is arranged in the vehicle interior in the vehicle roof. The sun screen is positionable in its first end position on the vehicle roof so that the connection opening and the recess of the sun screen cover one another.
Abstract:
In a vehicle door with a basic body in the form of a body-in-white that includes the exterior sheet metal, internal trim, and a partial area within this interior trim with functional parts that are visible and/or operable from the vehicle interior, the partial area must be installed with high dimensional accuracy. For this purpose, the partial area is formed by an insert part that is permanently attached to the body-in-white and the interior trim, is separate from, and has a reinforcing effect relative to the remaining area of the door interior trim.
Abstract:
A hydropneumatic piston/cylinder arrangement, in particular for use as a spring element and/or shock absorber element, includes a cylinder (1) and a piston (15) axially movable in the cylinder chamber (5) of the cylinder. The cylinder chamber is filled with hydraulic fluid. The piston (15) is connected to a piston rod (13) extending outwardly in a sealed manner from one end of the cylinder (1). The base of the piston remote from the piston rod (13) can be operatively connected to a pneumatic spring mechanism (7) to convey fluid. A piston accumulator (7) has an accumulator piston (19) directly adjoining the hydraulic fluid in the cylinder chamber provided as the spring mechanism.
Abstract:
At least one embodiment of the present invention is directed to a method and/or an apparatus for automatically providing a common modelling pattern as a function of a plurality of stored process models. The common modelling patterns are identified according to three substeps, namely semantic annotation, extraction of pattern based description and composite process pattern mining. The detected common modelling patterns serve as best practice candidates as regards process engineering. At least one embodiment of the present invention finds application in a variety of domains being related to process management, such as process design, process mining and semantic process planning.
Abstract:
A pressure store comprising sub-chambers (8, 54, 28) arranged in a housing (2), a first sub-chamber (8) arranged between the housing (2) and a flexible separating diaphragm (40), a second sub-chamber (54) arranged between the separating diaphragm (40) and a supporting body (48), and a third sub-chamber (28) encompassed by the supporting body (48), wherein the first sub-chamber (8) can be filled with a first fluid, wherein the second sub-chamber (54) and the third sub-chamber (28) are connected to one another in fluid-conducting fashion and can be filled with a second fluid, and wherein the first and the second sub-chamber (8, 54) vary in terms of their respective sizes as a result of movements of the separating diaphragm (40) as a function of the respective filling state, is characterized in that the first fluid is a storage medium and the second fluid is a working medium, and in that the second sub-chamber (54) is increased in size during the extraction of storage medium from the pressure store and is reduced in size during the filling of the pressure store with storage medium.

A device for the pulsed release of an amount of fluid which can be stored in a storage housing (2) is characterized in that a locking device (7) is formed by a piston-cylinder arrangement (8) having a cylinder housing (9) that is subdivided into a first working chamber (11) and a second working chamber (12) by a working piston (10), an electrorheological or magnetorheological valve (14) in the form of a gap (15) or an opening being arranged between the working chambers (11, 12) in the circumference (13) of the working piston (10) or in the working piston (10) as such.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an apparatus for clustering process models each consisting of model elements comprising a text phrase which describes in a natural language a process activity according to a process modeling language grammar and a natural language grammar, wherein said apparatus comprises a process object ontology memory for storing a process object ontology, a distance calculation unit for calculating a distance matrix employing said processing modeling language grammar and said natural language grammar, wherein said distance matrix consists of distances each indicating a dissimilarity of a pair of said process models, and a clustering unit which partitions said process models into a set of clusters based on said calculated distance matrix.
Abstract:
Due to the size and complexity of tissues such as the spinal cord and articular cartilage, specialized constructs incorporating cells as well as smart materials may be a promising strategy for achieving functional recovery. Aspects of the present invention describe the use of an electroactive, or piezoelectric, material that will act as a scaffold for stem cell induced tissue repair. Embodiments of the inventive material can also act alone as an electroactive scaffold for repairing tissues. The piezoelectric material of the present invention acts as a highly sensitive mechanoelectrical transducer that will generate charges in response to minute vibrational forces.
