摘要: A method for transmitting channel state information from an user equipment in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The user equipment transmits a spatial channel matrix or a spatial channel covariance matrix irrespective of a feedback type. The user equipment is able to additionally transmit noise plus interference variance information of a whole bandwidth used for the channel state information. In this case, the user equipment is able to transmit normalized spatial channel matrix or spatial channel covariance matrix and normalized noise plus interference variance information for accurate and efficient transmission of the channel state information. The user equipment receives an allocation of an uplink resource from a base station and is then able to map the spatial channel matrix or the spatial channel covariance matrix to the allocated resource according to a specific pattern.

摘要: A system for utilizing informed throttling to guarantee quality of service to a plurality of clients includes a server core having a performance analyzer that compares a performance level received by a client to a corresponding contracted service level and determines if the client qualifies as a victim whose received performance level is less than the corresponding contracted service level. The performance analyzer is further configured to identify one or more candidates for throttling in response to an I/O stream receiving insufficient resources by determining if the client qualifies as a candidate whose received performance level is better than the corresponding contracted service level. The server core further includes a scheduler that selectively and dynamically issues a throttling command to the candidate client, and provides a quality of service enforcement point by concurrently monitoring a plurality of I/O streams to candidate clients and concurrently throttling commands to the candidate clients.

摘要: In photolithographic exposure, a feature (144) of an optical mask is projected onto a dark area (160). The light intensity inside the dark area is reduced by providing a non-printable clear cutout (410) inside the feature. The optical mask has the same optical pathlength outside the feature (144) adjacent to the entire outer boundary of the feature as at the cutout, the optical pathlength being measured along the optical mask's thickness.

摘要: A pillar array is printed in positive photoresist using an optical mask (108) having an array of features (310) corresponding to the pillars. The pillars' width/length dimensions are below the exposure wavelength. Superior results can be achieved (less peeling off of the pillars and less overexposure at the center of each pillar) if the mask features (310) are downsized relative to the pillars' target sizes, and the exposure energy is reduced. Negative photoresist (with a dark field mask) can be used, and can provide good results (in terms of pillars peeling-off) if the combined area of the features (410) corresponding to the pillars is smaller than the area between the features (410).

摘要: The present system and associated method resolve the problem of providing statistical performance guarantees for applications generating streams of read/write accesses (I/Os) on a shared, potentially distributed storage system of finite resources, by initiating throttling whenever an I/O stream is receiving insufficient resources. The severity of throttling is determined in a dynamic, adaptive way at the storage subsystem level. Global, real-time knowledge about I/O streams is used to apply controls to guarantee quality of service to all I/O streams, providing dynamic control rather than reservation of bandwidth or other resources when an I/O stream is created that will always be applied to that I/O stream. The present system throttles at control points to distribute resources that are not co-located with the control point. A competition model is used with service time estimators in addition to estimated workload characteristics to determine which I/O needs to be throttled and the level of throttling required. A decision point issues throttling commands to enforcement points and selects which streams, and to what extent, need to be throttled.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for providing asynchronous communication between a source processor and a destination processor. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an information request; making a first call to the destination processor, such that the first call includes the information request; and ending the first call while the destination processor determines an information response, such that said ending terminates a synchronous communication between the source processor and the destination processor. Furthermore, the method includes making a second call to the source processor, such that the second call includes the information response; ending the second call, such that said ending terminates a synchronous communication between the destination processor and the source processor; and providing asynchronously the information response.
